Generally speaking, quality of opponent also has some fair say into how many fans arrive into your arena.
Obviously your team status in the league standings is one component, and the other components contribute as follows:
Rivalry Game Facing an arch rival that fans hate will also get them into seats
TV Game any Televised game at your arena will get more fans support.
Status of opponent in standings Very visible when facing a, say for instance #1 ranked team in conference, opposed to say, the #7 ranked seed in that conference.
Cup Status A longer cup run will drive more fan support. A very abrupt and early cup exit will not please the fans.
Those are the main things. Coming off a win streak or a quality win against quality opponent will also boost fan mood and thus in term, get more fans in seats. Coming off an upset loss, or TV/Rivalry loss will penalize you as well for the next home game. Conversely, you can link your attendance numbers with your "Fan Survey" on your BB Team page. A higher level PR Specialist can also aid your attendance ever so slightly.
