I started last season and promoted from div 4 to div 3. And I am top of my conference this season and still in the cup, so I realise that it is quite doable. All I am saying is he has 2 options, 1 is to try and promote this season, and the second option is to stay in div 4 and try and train for a season and establish yourself and get some experience before advancing.

I prefer the first option of trying to promote rather than stay in the same division and that is what I did. If he also wants to go this way, he could get quite a bit of money for an 18 year old MVP (depending on his skill set) and with that money plus the 300k he currently has he could easily buy some great players which would virtually gaurantee him promotion this season.

I'm not doubting your credentials. Nor do I know why you need to mention the cup. It's like me saying I made the quarter-finals last season in the cup. I'm just saying that training is a viable option.

In the end, both options are doable. Some prefer to buy instant success, I trained my team from ground up.

3 wins off the top 4 with 14 games remaining, plenty of time.

I agree that both options are just as good, obviously seeing as both you and me have had some success going about it in different ways.

Depending on how good his league is though (and I think it is a half decent div 4 league) I don't think he would be able to promote this season without receiving a lot of income from somewhere and buying a much better team. But if he still manages to promote then I think he has done very very well given the position he is currently in.

As for mentioning the cup, it is relevant in that you need a half decent team or a very lucky draw to make it past the first few rounds.

I'm guessing with the name MissBasketball shes female lol. It's an easy assumption to make due to the lack of females playing lol.
