NEW AQUISITION CARRUBBA HAS STRONG DEBUT

Steel City - Matteo Carruba made his debut with a bang today in front of a record 5,696 fans at the Thunderdome. The 18 year old scored 30 points, pulled down 14 boards, and dished out 6 assists helping the Cyborgs to improve to 19-2 on the season.

"I felt good out there." the youngster said,"I just let the game come to me". He flashed skills in many areas showing why the Cyborgs were willing to make such a huge investment.

GM Krazy Kay was gushing with excitment, "He's a 7 foot point guard who can bang in the post. This kid is going to be something special, He's going to be a star and one that can play multiple positions. That gives us great flexiblity besides a great player, I'm excited, I cant wait to see this kid get a few training seasons under his belt."

VAN MARKE RELEASED, MANURIA TRANSFERED

Steel City - All Star PG Griffin Van Marke was due to be suspened by the team today for conduct detriment to the team, but was instead released. "We tried to move him, but there just wasnt a market for him apparently," Said GM Krazy Kay,"At the end of the day we just needed to cut ties, it was becoming too much of a distraction."

In related news, the Cyborgs transfered SF Marcin Manuria for a small amount of cash. Our source says the move was strictly a cost cutting move in anticipation of higher player salaries next season. Marcin became expentable when Terressa and Deljkovic came aboard Both can play multiple positions including Mauira SF spot. Marcin had no hard feelings, "I had a great time here, was part of a great playoff run last year and now the Cyborgs have a great chance to promote this season. It would be great to be a part of it, but I also realize my minutes have disappeared and I became a casualty of business. I'll be fine though, I'll do the same for my new team, play hard all the time! I have to admit though, I'll be keeping an eye on the boxscores and rooting for the Cyborgs to promote."

CYBORGS COMPLETE FIRST FULL SEASON WITH 20-2 RECORD.

Steel City - The Cyborgs finished off thier first full season with a 101-84 victory over the Mackers. Their 20-2 record locks up the #1 seed in the Red conference and the #2 seed overall in the league. Should the Cyborgs make the finals and the Red Flags stumble Steel City will have home court advantage in the finals. Not bad for the first full season in Cyborg History.

Season in review:

Team Captian Cliffton Tinsley was named team MVP. He didnt post the best numbers on the team, but he did move from PF to SF to fill a huge hole nicely. Not only did he post solid numbers (16.3 pts, 7.3 rbs) but he did all the little things so its no surprise he led the team with a 8.1 rating. the true glue guy of the team.

The surprise of the season was 1st ever Cyborg draft pick Kristopher Oglesby. The 18yr old power forward posted an amazing 20.3 pts, 21.0 rbs, and 7.7 asts, in 12 league games. He was 3 games shy of qualifying for league leaders. Had he qualified he would have led the league in all three categories.

Impact transfer of the year was center Paweł Chrzaścik. A rookie third round pick from Poland has averaged 17.0 points and 17.5 rebounds in six games since he's arrived. He continues to improve each week. A real steal for a guy was the 4th to last pick of the draft.

Tuesday the playoffs begin. Last year the Cyborgs where just happy to parcipate in the post season, but this season, they have their eye on the championship and a promotion to division IV. It wont be easy, but this reporter thinks Steel City has the talent and depth to get the job done. Let the playoffs begin!

STEEL CITY BLOWS OUT TIMERWOLFS, LOSE CENTER BIG C FOR THE SEASON.

Steel City - A full house of 6,026 fans witnessed a masacre of the woefully outmatched Timerwolfs 119-48. The Cyborgs quickly jumped on their first round opponent 35-12 and never looked back. One fan joked, "It was like Mike Tyson beating up an eight year old."

The win was costly however, as starting center big C injured his shoulder again and will miss the rest of the playoffs. The big man was devistated,"I heard it pop and felt a tear, its bad, real bad. I just want to be out there on the floor helping my team to win a championship and my run lasts exactly one minute. I'm crushed"

Krazy Kay and the Cyborgs have been down this road before having lost both their starting center and power forward before the playoffs last year. GM Krazy Kay:"Those injuries last year cost us a champonship last year. No disrespect to the Cannon Boys, but we had zero depth behind those guys and still we almost gutted out the win. One of my goals this year was to have quality depth heading into the playoffs and now that will be tested. Big C is our best inside presence, he's averaged 17 and 17 for the season, but Freedman, Yiorgos, and big Z can all hold down the fort. Dont forget about Tinsley, he slid over to center today and had the most dominating game of his career (33 points, 25 rebounds). We have lots of optoins and lots of depth, we have no excuses this year."

Up next will the a home game againt hated rivals TX Falcons. Both teams won their home games during the season, but momentum swings back to the Falcons as new arrival SF Hodas has the Falcons playing the best basketball of the season.

Tinsley expects a tough game in the conference finals, "Man this is gonna be a war, serioulsy, hard fought, blood, sweat, and tears man. They beat us early in the season, then we got some good momentum beat them pretty good toward the end, but now....they have all the momentum. That new cat Buda? Hodo? He's got them playing GREAT ball right now. They are well rested and healthy too. And I think they wanna give us a little payback. It's gonna be a great game though, two conference rivals duking it out for all the glory."

AW I was looking forward to both teams at full health. Been training my Centers and PF's all year to shut down your inside game. Should still be a good game though you have a bit of depth at those postions it seems like.

It should be a great game, that late addition you got at SF really changed the dynamics of our matchup. Its going to be a close hard fought game I think.....and I wont be able to watch it live :( That may be a good thing, have a feeling it will be a stressfull game to watch lol. Good luck, can't wait for the game, its the game we've been working towards all season! Rivaly playoff week!

BIG C DELAYS SURGERY IN CASE OF "MIRACLE" RECOVERY

Steel City - Starting center Big C says that he will delay surgery until after the playoffs just in case he can play through the injury. "I don't know how to expain it," the big center began,"It's just this weird feeling I have that the lord might let me get back out there before its all said and done. Maybe he'll bless me with a miracle recovery or let it be strong enough that I can play through the pain. It's in his hands now."

GM Krazy Kay was amused by the rookie, saying"I think he just stole my nickname, because any talk of getting back on the floor is 'Krazy!' with a 'K'. It would really be a miracle if he played just one minute during the rest of the playoffs, but ya know, stranger things have happened. We feel good the center spot though, Radion Freedman will get the start and Yiorgos and big Z will get some time too. I can't wait for this game, confernce finals, at home, vs our rivals, looking to take the next step as a franchise. I probably wont sleep tonight!"

TINSLEY LEADS MIRACLE 4TH QUARTER COMEBACK, SENDS CYBORGS TO LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!

Steel City - for three quarters the TX Falcons played swarming, smuthering championship defense. If not for the heroics of team MVP Clifton Tinsley the Cyborgs would have been buried by the time the fourth quarter started. Instead he single handley kept Steel City afloat scoring 18 of the teams 49 points through 3 quarters. Still the Falcons had their largest lead of the game, 8 points heading into the deciding quarter.

Tinsley wasn't done however as he had back to back steals and a monster dunk early in the 3rd which sparked a Cyborg 9-0 run to pull within 1. Oglesby, Brežgis, and Alburez finally awoke from their shooting slumber (combined 6-36 in the first 3 quarters) hitting huge shots down the stretch. the trio shot 8-12 in the deciding quarter.

Everytime the Cyborgs appeared one basket away from taking control, Falcon SF Buda hodos would hit a big shot. he scored 9 of his 17 points down the stretch on 4-8 shooting, including a huge 3 with 1:59 left to cut Cyborg lead to 1 point.

Brežgis sealed the game with a slam dunk followed by a steal at the 1:13 mark to give the Cyborgs a 73-68 lead. The final score was 80-74. Brett McKinley lead all scorers with 27.

The miracle comeback game was too much for GM Krazy Kay as he passed out early in the fourth quarter during his teams 9-0 run. He awoke after the game freaking out swatting imaginary Falcons away and grabbing unseen wounds. "Get them off of me," screamed a paniced Kay upon waking. When he realized his players where standing around him, he screamed at them to get back on the floor and finish the game. After realizing the game was over, he was not attacked by falcons, and that the Cyborgs where heading to the Championsip series, he passed out again!

This reporter has nothing but mad respect for the tough TX Falcon team. They gave the Cyborgs everything they could on the road and nearly pulled off the upset. The late trade for SF Buda Hodos proved to be a great move and will pay off in the long run as well as he is only 24 years old. A team on the rise no doubt. A worthy rival!

Notes and Quotes:
-PG Brežgis missed 16 of his first 17 shots, "I swear someone put a lid on that damn hoop, I've never been so frustrated in my life. Everything at stake and I couldn't hit water if I fell out of a damn boat!"
-Krazy Kay will stay over night at the hospital for observation, but is expected to be released before Tuesdays Championship game. He did not speak with the media after the game.
-Oglesby on facing the Skunder Thunder,"Oh my gawd! Oh myyyy gawd! This was only the confernce finals! I can't imagine a tougher game, but i know its gonna be! They are a super crafty team, you never know how they are going to attack you on both ends of the floor. I really have no idea what to expect, except we gotta bring 150%! no 250%!

STARTING POINT GUARD FOR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME UP IN THE AIR.

Steel City - Cyborg coach today told reporters he wasnt sure who he would start in Tuesdays championship game 1. "Miervaldis (Brežgis) had a tough shooting night in the semies,"started the coach"but he sure came up clutch at the end of the game. I think MB got caught up in the moment and made some plays I know he wanted back. Iggr (Igor Bagration) on the other hand is a grizzled vet, he's been there before and wont feel that pressure of the moment. They are both good enough to start, so I really have a good problem on my hands."

DEFENSE LEADS CYBORGS TO VICTORY IN GAME 1 FINALS

Steel City - Steel City played perhaps their best defensive game of the season holding the visiting Skunder Thunder to just 27.2% shooting en route ot a 94-54 victory. "I don't think we ever came down from the that feeling of beating the Falcons," said rookie Ogelsby,"I know it's impossible to keep our emotional level up here, but we're gonna try!"

The scene changes for game 2 however as the Cyborgs will be on the road. Krazy Kay was cautious,"This Thunder Skunder team gave up trouble during the regular season, played us right down to the wire in our own house, so we know they can play a whole lot better than they did tonight. Tonight was just one of those games were everything and I mean everything went our way. I don't expect that they will have that poor a shooting night again. Plus they are going to be home, so that is a huge advantage right there."

Skunder C Fustini led all scorers with 18 points, while adding 13 boards. PF Ogelsby led the way for the Cyborgs with 17 points.

PG Giovanbattista Bellorini hit the hard floor late in the 2nd quarter and did not return. He's a bit sore, but says he will be ready for game 2.

DEPTH PROVIDING HUGE BOOST

Yiorgos and Radian have done a great job tag teaming to replace injured center Big C. The duo combined for 13 points and 21 rebounds in game 1 of the finals. But it doesnt stop there. New arrival Carrubba who was not expected to play in the playoffs has now become the main backup for Tinsley at he SF spot. He scored 14 points off the bench in his 23 mintues of work. And the forgoten Big Z nearly posted a double, double off the bench with a 10 point, 9 rebound performance.
