I would also just add two things:
1) Is individual success/club success more important than contributing to the national team? The other way around? Is this a national team hall of fame or a league hall of fame or a national hall of fame? (not really expecting an answer so much as throwing out the fact that these things are probably worth considering for all of us)

2) In future seasons it might be better to move this to mid-season, just before the all-star break rather than having it at the beginning of the season. The forum gets busy around election time/NT scouting time at the begining of seasons, and it would be nice to have a regular, high traffic thread come out during the mid-season forum lull. But that's just me.

My votes go to JBM for obvious reasons and Joly simply because he's played the most NT games for Canada. Its probably not the best reason to vote for him, but given that I haven't been following the NT for all that long I don't have an awful lot more to go on!

I think that jbmcrock is an easy choice for manager. I remember seeing him as a legend within my first season or two of joining BB.

The choice of player is more difficult, but I'll toss in a vote for Joly.

Once one player and one manager has been elected my plan is to create a view only thread (hopefully a GM or Mod will lock it) where everyone can see the Canadian greats

jbmcrock was always the manager I hated playing the most, but secretly wanted to be.
Jean-Francois Joly has been amazing, but I'm going to give a shout out to my contribution to team Canada in Cristophe Tassé (2931094)

I think a player who was once the top rated player in the game should be an automatic HOF selection

my vote would be for jbmcrock and romero. i don't think it's close as manager and i've been nominated! with the players, i've been around long enough to remember when romero was considered the best player in this game, so i give a vote to him. i'm sure joly will get in next time.
