Drinking a Ballast Point Victory at Sea Imperial Porter right now. Ballast Point is a great brewery in San Diego.

Nice!

Went to the Doger game tonight. Kazmir was great. Just hit Rancho Bernardo. In San Diego until Sunday. Then back to LA for the Angels Tigers series. I will look for the Ballast.

Ballast Point Sculpin. Totally legit. Worthy of being a Pacific Northwesr beer.

I'll keep an eye out for it. At Belmont Park today. Heading downtown a bit later.

Sculpin is indeed excellent, but I expect a decline in quality of their IPA's since they've been bought by a mega-distributor. Other outstanding SoCal IPA's include Fortunate Islands (from Modern Times) and Coronado Brewing's Islander IPA.

Maybe those in the Pacific Northwest haven't noticed it yet, but others have: San Diego is the capital city of craft brewing these days, especially for IPA's!

And don't forget Stone Brewing. Their Delicious IPA is, well, delicious. And their "enjoy by" series has produced some great ones.

Thanks, TarZip!

Before Saturday, I was thinking that the Robots might go 0-22 in the league this season (assuming I don't make any major roster changes). Then we get a W in game 1! Hopes for a 2nd win have diminished greatly since noting that Cal Bulldogs filled some gaps in their lineup over the weekend.

Paso Robles, CA. I live in in Central California and Firestone Walker is a popular brewery near here. I like their Velvet Merlin (Oatmeal Stout) and Wookey Jack (Black Rye IPA). I guess it obvious now that I like dark beers. Sounds like you are having a good trip!

Way late to responding to you here but I'm in Santa Monica (western part of LA)
shoot me a BB-mail if you're coming through

I went through a brief beer connoisseur phase a couple years ago but in the end I have no taste and don't mind Budweiser at all, haha.
