The whole trainer thing upsets me lol, I had superior trainers for the first 4 seasons and actually worked out quite well, then to save $$ and build a “win now” team I fired the Superior, bought a solid supporting cast of players and downgraded to an Advanced trainer, while I had the advanced trainer, I only witnessed a handful of skill pops and was EXTREMELY disappointed. I fired him and I recently sold off a Cast player to purchase another star player to match with Ahmet and Terry and downgraded to the worst level
Of trainer there is lol, and oddly enough. Have seen more skill pops with this one than the advanced one

Haha, interesting info. Well, I'll run the advanced guy probably for the rest of this season and see how things go with pops. Coming in halfway through, I'm kinda treating this season as a good time to experiment, because the 18 year olds have missed all that training already. By the start of next season I should have a better feel for the economics of it and then maybe upgrade to a superior trainer. I'm just trying to be real conservative with money at the start.

Advanced trainer here, and I'm wishing I invested in Superior right out the gate but mostly because I'm struggling to consistently get my rotation players to pop. It's still not that bad, but getting skills to pop takes 3-4 weeks at least. It's really a bummer to wake up on Friday and see that nobody popped at all. I live for that kind of dopamine so I'm trying to upgrade currently and it's VERY competitive! 600k-ish to get a Superior trainer with a good salary.

Your overall strategy sounds pretty good, though! I'd focus on upgrading your arena this season and invest in an Advanced PR staff member and try to keep that weekly salary as high as possible. You'll be competitive in a season or two!

Oh, that's super helpful, thanks. I guess I couldn't have gotten a superior trainer anyway at those prices. Yeah arena upgrade seems like it's gonna be next on the list though.

I mean, it's one Banana, Michael. What could it cost, 10 dollars?

I want to say that your star player is 20% of your lineup and 15% of your minutes assuming 36 minutes a game for easy math. Because every pass has two ends and rebounding is a team effort, your best player only performs about twice as well as your worst starter no matter how high his ceiling/salary. Tomorrow we'll cover game shape, enthusiasm, and stamina.

Tonight's scheduled rant is postponed for Atrocious. Using free-throw stats from before they attempted to make them realistic an Atrocious free-throw shooter could go 0-60 in a season while an Inept free-throw shooter would shoot about 57%. Consider this when you put Atrocious anywhere on your roster. Inept is much farther away from Atrocious than it is from Stupendous. Focus on raising the floor of your roster. Its cheaper than chasing superstars. Guards with Atrocious shot blocking and bench players with Atrocious free-throw shooting might be the exception. The decreased salary may be worth the limited situations they let you down.

It seems like you did a lot of research here.

I’m a big believer in a complimentary roster, realistically , I have 3 star caliber players. I start 2 of them and I have other come off the bench. The rest of my team is full of role players that compliment what the team lacks. I evenly balance skill between the second unit and the first unit so that both units are equally productive in a game. I have seen this work out quite well. On any given night, any one of my players can go out and drop 20, and most of their skill sets would not work in their benefit if they were to be playing on another team.

I have a 6th man potential player putting up 13 a game w/ a 9+ rating per game, on any other team, he’d probably be retired but he serves a valuable purpose on MY team
