From the schedule's point of view, the Americas and Asia still have room to expand to 24 teams.
So I later changed it to “nearly half.”

In my opinion, it would be better if Europe also had half of the teams with only 7 weeks of games.

By the way, I’m curious about what’s in (327390.1)

Other options could be considered — for example, the Swiss system like in BBB (more games where strong teams play against strong teams, and weak teams play against weak teams), and after a certain number of games, we could have a playoff.
But in any case, I think the system needs to be changed, because 75% of European national teams spend half of the season playing friendly matches. It’s not interesting.

I think there's a problem — in the Americas and Asia, nearly half of the teams only have 7 weeks of games, but in Europe, two-thirds of the teams only have 11 weeks of games.
This should affect the world rankings.
Sorry, I just realized that in your proposal,
if the schedules for the Americas and Asia are also adjusted so that the ratios and number of games are roughly the same,
then the problem of the world ranking being underestimated that I mentioned before shouldn’t exist.

As an option, all continents separately could play the same number of games using the Swiss system, followed by playoffs. This way, every team would have the same number of matches in the qualifying round plus the playoffs. There would be more interesting games between teams of similar strength. I’m not insisting on my first proposal — it’s just that right now, there are too many games that don’t matter and too many friendlies for those who didn’t advance to the second round.

I understand that this isn’t a problem for the larger communities, but it would be nice to have more competition and more interesting matches.
