A better idea would've been to allow teams to hire a 2nd trainer.

well, what's the issue? teams can't train rookies or else they'll lose games? you can make that less the case by one trainer training game shape and the other training positionally. alternatively, you could train both guards and bigs at the same time. it would actually be advantageous to have a very young team with a lot of young talent, instead of just 2 or 3 players.

Training all those players at the same time and increasing their skills would increase their salaries dramatically at the same time. You would not be able to keep a team together. I train my guys , the salaries get to high and I have to sell. It is a constant cycle for me. We need more income cycled into the teams. Players should be able to cut deals with sponsors like Nike and others. This way you could sustain your very good players. These outside contracts could help pay the higher salaries.

I have trained PF out of position some already with Joe and he's popped every week but one. My personal opinion the 90%, 80% doesn't hurt that much if you are doing it as single position training on an 18 or 19 year old ONLY. once they turn 20 the hit you take in training based on age would make doing out of position pointless and take FOREVER. So my idea or thought is if you are trying to train out of position do it for the attributes that once they turn 20 you can't and wont train single position only. Again just my personal logic on it.

I think you BOTH are onto something. The 2 trainers thing i dont agree with, it makes it a challenge to find young players mins during your cup run which adds to the game. if you want to train your rookies lose your cup game and train them in scrimmages.

However I do think it would be cool to have the option for a substantial fee to have a player specific trainer OR a skill specific trainer. In real life thats very much what training is. A team drafts a guy and they assign 1 specific guy to train just that person so I think you should be able to hire a trainer that focuses just on 1 guy so you dont have to worry about what position you play him in etc at no penalty if you pay the extra money for a player specific trainer you get 100% training for your 48 mins whether its a PF training in ball handling or a PG training in rebounding or Shot blocking. and then you'd still have your regular trainer who would do our standard 48 mins training and penalty for out of position training etc...... the only other idea would be to have skill specific trainers. So how trainers can do career extension etc. There could be a Jumpshot specialist, or ball handling, rebounding, etc. In real life there are certain coaches who are better at teaching something than other coaches. To get one of those coaches BB would make them more expensive of course and they would get a hit to something else as a penalty. So the Passing coach would get 110% in passing but his penalty would be he trains outside at 90%. Or the jumpshot coach trains jump shot faster but trains driving or ball handling a little worse.

Lastly Homeboyz you make a great point that training your players heightens your salary but guys you draft and train you get a bonus on merchandise. I make REALLY good merch money because tommy is drafted and trained by me only. But i do like the idea of adding 1 additional income category ONLY for teams who draft and train their guys. Not just more income randomly so teams could go out and BUY more expensive players. So if you draft him and train him every 2nd or 3rd season you get a "charity donation" because that home grown guy works in the community and someone rewards your team for his contributions. Again just throwing ideas.

it doesn't have to be like that, you can train secondaries to keep cost down while continuing to increase the player value and production.

alright boys, we're officially halfway through the season, let's get some power rankings done:

1. Philadelphia Phantasm - 11-0

again, you can't argue with undefeated. they're rainmakers from deep, led by a resurgent timothy fischer. 43% from beyond the arc is just cooking. the team has been on fire all season, pulling out the tough games and beating down the lower-echelon teams, apparent in their pd of a staggering +404. that's a pace of over 800! that would be a level of dominance last seen 5 seasons ago, and we've seen some good teams come and go.

2. Baker Street Irregulars - 8-3

pereyaslav kuptsov. his name is as difficult to pronounce as his play is to define. he does it all for the irregulars, and has shot himself into mvp contention. he shoots, he rebounds, he drives, even dishes... well kinda dishes sometimes every once in a while when he isn't putting the ball in the hoop. the irregulars are who we thought they were, and top the blue division as proof.

3. West Side Tigers - 8-3

maybe underrated at 3 (i debated between them and baker street for a good long while), they're right in the thick of things once again. topping the charts in collective team salary, this comes as a surprise to no one. their lack of a deep bench has cost them a bit, but remains the only question mark on the team. unless philly unexpectedly falters, they'll probably have to go on the road in the playoffs to earn their place in the title game. this was largely of their own doing, due to intentionally laying down 2 league games in favor of winning cup games. can they overcome hca? if anyone can...

4. frosty bc - 8-3

let's not kid ourselves, i've yet to play baker street, and skated by a dinged up bucsblue team. expect this to change in the near future. nevertheless, if the proof is in the pudding, then an 8-3 record and a +275 pd, good for 2nd best in the league, is downright incriminating. my squad has been led by a combo attack of tomas liutvickas and mounir ben slimane (tounes international player). liutvickas has arguably been the league's premier sniper, and slimane is a walking double-double. pick your poison, sirs. the kids are also fairing a lot better at point than i thought they would, which has led the team to not completely suck.

5. BucsBlue Lob City - 7-4

they dropped a game to yours truly due to an injury to their stud tompkins, and early in the season to homeboyz during their rebuild, otherwise you'd probably see them in the top 3 in the charts. at a minimum, up a spot. they're well on their way to reclaiming former dominance with rookie joe hilton which is SO UNFAIR HOW HE GOT HIM HE DIDN'T EVEN SCOUT C'MON BB YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT! anyway... tompkins likely tops the mvp votes, probably followed closely by fischer. this team is still dangerous and can still make noise in the playoffs.

6. Diamantes - 7-4

they're still in pretty good shape as far as playoffs are concerned, but it must be awfully worrisome watching mitsubishi and homeboyz make a couple marquee acquisitions. while they have failed to live up to the billing as a big market, highly paid team, they're winning on 2 fronts; the league and the cup. it's a balancing act that thus far they've played well, and their bench is to thank for that.
