We have a tough game first up so it should be a good chance to see what the team can do.

We have Msir, who are much stronger and they also have HCA.

I have to say that i am a little concerned about a few players GS. Although it is only one week in and i understand in the first week or two, some unintended GS problems arise. However if an increase is not noticable i will have to contact their managers about it

sure can Ebene,

My aim in this game was to try see how we could use Wall to exploit the opposing player, who on this occasion was Ibn-Osman, a 70k SF. However most the ball went through Schartner. It was an experimental game as Msir are a much stronger team who had better GS and are playing the tournament on their home court. I would not be to deterred by the result as i also think they would be a favourite to win the championship on their home soil.

Also just to explain why i chose not to play Look Inside other than to try patient. If you take a look at the inside matchups, Chisiza (114k) average GS and Waagana (83k) strong GS vs El-Ibrahim (247k) strong GS and Yousef (186k) strong GS. To me that doesnt seem like a wise idea going directly inside against those opposition who also have the GS edge, as Chisiza's average GS isn't up to par.

I will post a match report soon.

we are trying to open a section on an offsite forum, where we could discuss tactics with you guys before the game. at the moment we just bb-mail one another and try to figure out what would be best for a given match.

if you have any suggestion, you can still bb-mail me and bainsy. we will be glad to have your thoughts.

for this game, i totally agreed with the slow paced offense. i'd have gone low post though, which i think would have given more shots to wall. considering the different factors mentioned by bainsy, i think his choices are respectable.

we will see what we gonna do next game ;)

I support Bainsy's call. Often when your NT is greatly mismatched a crazy tactic can be your best chance. We took on an incredible USA team last season with the Bolivian U21 team, they had a $200,000 U21 player and we played a SG at PF and ran patient. We still got slaughtered horribly but it was fun to see him score the most in the game.

9/4 South Africa vs. Misr 65 - 101 (21007)

This game was always going to be out of our reach, especially being hampered by some GS issues. Their were a few positive notes with Schartner top scoring for the game with 32 points, with just under 50% efficiency. Wall was another of the shining lights with 5-10 shooting along with a team high 9 rebounds from the SF spot. Wall was also impressive on the defensive end. Mwathiwa was horrid from the field with 0-11, despite handing off 7 of the teams 10 assists. Overall we showed signs of competing in the first quarter, however we were overrun after that point.

Next game against Nigeria should be a better indication of where the team is at.

Overall better GS this week than last which i am pleased to say. Still a few concerns on a few players and i will contact their managers about this issue.

I am hoping to possibly get the offsite forum for SA set up again so we can get some of you guys involved.
