That's a good point ebene. Now consider the other tactics I could have chosen:

(I'll reveal some skills but I don't think it really matters on trained players)

1. LI: fast paced offense suits us good, but our best inside shooter has 10 IS. Our 4 highest salaried big men are in 7 GS which is not great. LI would definitely not be a good choice.

2. LP: slow paced offense with same problems as LI. Even worst choice.

3. RnG: We don't have the JR to play that offense. Bad choice.

4. BO / P: clearly not enough offensive flow to make it efficient and we need an outstanding player to make it worth, which we don't have.

5. PtB: good option but we don't take advantage of the better game shape of our guards over our big men.

6. Motion: suits us best this time: our guards lack some JR but motion is more on mid range jumpers. Our good game shape guards will take more shots than the bad game shape + low IS big men. We can take advantage of our scoring PF.

This game cannot be re-played but I'm extremely confident this was the best option. I could argue the same way for the defense.

If you want to take this discussion any further, let's do it on the offsite forum so we can work with the players skills :)

PS: All the skills I mentioned above can be guessed if you pay attention to the game ratings.

and I'm not even mentioning the fact that we played against an overall better team that was in better game shape, on their home court and with the same effort level...

I think you're either overrating our team or underrating our opponents.

Finally, I'd like to remind you that you're free to share your thoughts before the game on the offsite forum. It'd be better than criticize what we did after the game.

I'd also like to add that I personnally find it quite disappointing to see the NT managers ratings down to 0% and 50% considering our global input. You have a couple of successful managers (in our own league, country) that are keen on developping a country, starting from very little, sharing some knowledge and experience, helping out new managers and improving overall national training. It's a chance for SA and I sincerly hope you can realize it.

SA has had some dark seasons, I don't think you want to fall back in there.

Anyway, I shall not complain about someone arguing our decisions! it's still better than "nobody cares".

cheers mate

I agree that it is better that you have some comments from local managers than none. I have had U21 teams in that situation, all in bad game shape, weak scorers in key positions. My opinion is that the other option for you would have been patient. Obviously you don't have great offensive flow, but motion also relies on great offensive flow. The advantage that patient has is that it firstly keeps the score low and secondly you can find that one mismatch and really exploit it so if your PF was firing he would have had more shots and the PG/SG/SF less. Obviously it doesn't do anything for the defensive issues.

You guys are doing a great job and deserve 100% support from the community. If there is only seven managers perhaps you can PM them all and ask what else they would like to see?

No, there is no overreaction there.

Don't get it wrong, I have a lot of respect for ebene. He's been around for a long time and his team management is outstanding. What's more, he also trains some local players.

Now I'm just saying that I feel upset about the NT managers ratings (even though it doesn't really matter) and I'd rather have managers discussing tactics before the game than criticize choices after the game.

You have expectations for us, we (at least I) also have expectations for you.

i see.As for the NT managers rating i for one didnt even look at it till you mentioned it bt that in no way shows that i think less of bainsy and the work he is doing. And since only 2 people voted you cant really expect alot.

yeh i agree with the last bit of what ezlife said. That now we have the offsite forum we would love for you guys to suggest lineups or tactics for the games o get you guys involved. Now i know jay is only new to the game and is still learning the mechanics of different tactics and skills, so he would be reluctant to suggest to much, using it more as a learning curve. But Ebene you have obviously been around for a while and have a good understanding of the game, so i guess we would like you to share some of your thoughts before the games as well as being able to critic the team as you have done.

Anyway so after the training update this week i will post something up for a game against Al Maghrib and hopefully we can get some discussion.
