Win more games than I did...Haha. But seriously, you need some real firepower to succeed in DII. Defense can only get you so far it seems. My team was lacking dynamic scoring, or rather multiple scorers. Its also not a place to be continuing full time training while being seriously competitive. And then finally, having a bit of a cash cushion doesn't hurt when you need that extra boost on you team, so make sure your arena can handle DII, and you have some cash saved already.

My boys still have some life in them. Well, not Rizzo, but Ellison and Hollis are still a potent combo.

Rizzo was my very first draft pick, so hard to let him go, and he is still better than most of the players I can afford. :D

Do not be deceived by his Salary. He still has some fight left in him. Looking always for the next set of players, but not getting lucky on the transfer market.

Well Extra Crispy ....
You demolished our league at 22-0 and now seem to on the way to D II.
We hope to follow your lead, but if we get to D.III, we will be there a couple of seasons.

Congrats to Extra Crispy - a clearly deserving champion of III.14 for S26.

Although the sequence of events in the fourth quarter of Game 3 was pretty hilarious and must have been a bit embarrassing:

Start of 4th Quarter
(12:00) Extra Crispy leads 94-67. Coach decides game is decided, pulls starters.
EBC's starters proceed to take it to the EC reserves, chipping away at the lead for entire quarter.
The last minute looked like:
(0:45) EBC's Francis Luke finds Vasily Fink who hits a 27-footer. Score now 105-96. EC lead down to 9.

(0:35) EBC fouls, sends EC's reserve guard Raleigh Tinsley to the line. Hits first, misses second.

(0:35) EBC's Daryl Irving grabs the rebound, and gets it to Francis Luke.

(0:29) Luke shakes his defender for a corner three and hits. 106-99. Lead now at 7.

EC finally ashamedly calls a 30-second timeout, tucks tail between legs, and sends starters back in.

But EBC wasn't giving up:

(0:21) Another Francis Luke three pointer, 107-102

(0:19) EC's Hector Croy bricks both free throws; EBC's Bud Jones gets the loose ball, 30 second timeout.

After starting fourth quarter down 27, EBC had the ball with 19 seconds left, only down 5.

We ended up getting two looks off from three, but couldn't hit either one, and Francesco Bernocchi finally grabbed the defensive rebound with 11 seconds left to put the game away.

Congrats Extra Crispy for winning the title.

That was an amazing comeback EBC. Too bad it came back a little short. That could have the greatest finish ever.
