Actually, I don't and never had much money. I've never tanked and don't make money on transfers. If I wanted to, I guess I could sell Byers, Burt, Rodriguez and Trubel for a pretty penny since their secondaries make them pretty awesome. I think there are several teams that could have beaten me. I didn't have a strong inside game until I picked up some big guys at the end of the season. But, yes, I expect I'll win now.

you say you don't have much money, but your 250k average gate receipt and 19k seat arena suggest otherwise. admitting your players are highly valuable bolsters that idea.

maybe if you'd lost a couple more games in the regular season and drawn like the 3 seed in the red side, it might've been different, but maybe not even then. i think as soon as you picked up robuste and huaibin (and were able and willing to afford to take the subsequent over-extension tax), it was over.

not to mention, 750k in xfer fees is also pretty significant. i don't have 750k in the bank. i don't have 500k, much less to additionally afford another 200k/wk in salary and the over-extension tax that accompanies it.

don't get me wrong, you've been a great manager this season, all the props, but i think you might be a little out of touch with the average d3 player's struggles if you don't think you have much money. in order to afford the moves you've made this season, you had to have a lot of money (value) relative to the rest of the league. well, rest of the division.

Guess it's all relative. No overextension tax since I've built most of everyone's skills (I have a $200K exemption). And with the Cup revenue, I was making $100K a week which let me build that $750K this season. My advantage is that Byers and Burt are my draftees and well trained.

All that needs to be said about Burt relative to this league is that the guy was pulling MVP votes in II.4.

I dont think Marsh is out of this world untouchable from a D3 stand point. He has a strong roster thats salary heavy with players he trained up not purchased 2 seasons apart from each other. Now that's good fortune to get 2 guys with hall of fame potential 2 years apart from each other. And spending time at D2 never hurts. the TV contract money there is more, the opportunity to really invest in your arena is there, the increase in people coming to games and increase in prices you can charge helps. So if you do relegate to D3 simply because you get beat you'll probably win games at D3 so your arena still stays quite full, the loss in tv contract money doesn't kill you and if you cut things like scouting cost or staff cost as you probably aren't really training anyone at the time you can offset the loss in tv contract revenue and still be profitable. Not to mention you're probably good enough to win a few cup games and still win in the D3 league if your games line up right early in the season. Marsh took the right path this season. he didn't sweat losing to a few teams because he knew he was built for the playoffs.

I am not gonna say this series is completely over yet between him and I. I do still get a home game, and as we know if we go to a game 3 anything can happen (injury, random foul outs etc)

It's pretty easy to bank cash in this game. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised there isn't more war chest building that goes on when people invest so minimally in staff and in the draft.

Right? I've never had to work so hard just to avoid relegation series and fail at that. You'd think 10 wins would be enough to do at least that much, but i apparently isn't. We need some cupcakes to balance outthe difficulty To normal d3 standards. I feel like this league is far more difficult than average. As evidence, my brothers team is a new promotee in d3 this season and he's probably going to promote to D2. It's honestly bullshit. On the other hand, this is the first season I've failed to reach my goal since I started so I guess Maybe I'm just putting things in the most exaggerated light Out of frustration and disappointment.

nope, confirmed, our league is by far the toughest in d3.

median d3 finals team salary - 282,243.5

bucsblue salary - 331,041

marshland salary - 419,052

there are 32 teams in the d3 finals. respectively, marshland and bucsblue rank #2 and #7 amongst them in salary. the only d3 team with a higher salary than marshland is in III.3, the d.c. dribble penetrators, with 434,878. the #3 team in d3 sits at 373,114, so the gap between them and #2 marshland is 45,938. the top 2 teams in d3 are the top 2 by FAR.

before selling ryder, baker street would have ranked #9, and west side #10. philly at 276,272 ousts 12 of those 32 finals teams. the lowest paid finals team sits at 234,056.

the total salary in our league's finals matchup is 750,093. that tops d3, the next closest being III.10 with 676,328. that's a difference of 73,765, the largest margin between any rank (between 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4 etc.).

without any doubt whatsoever, III.7 is the toughest league in the division.
