Yeah, can look at the positives to this one - took on one of the better teams in the world, and only got beat due to GDP. Shows we can take it up to the big boys.

not wanting to be a negative Nancy, but didn't we get beat because we GOT GDP'd?

ie: Used LI and they correctly guessed?

We suffered our second defeat Monday night against a top notch Italian team (31210).

These guys will be right up there come finals. A bit short for time this week, so no big write up sorry.

MVPS
3 votes- Maverick. 21 pts on 9-14fg, the 20yr olf SF has arrived! Big,big wraps on this guy.
2 votes- Geyer- 13pts, 6-10fg, and 6 boards
1 vote- Flipper- 7 assists, 4 boards, and 4 points.

We have an interesting game this week. Hoping our starting quality players return to the game shape we are going to need to continue in the World Cup. Training has been great, keep up the plans.

Australia too hot for Chile (31213)
Australia has won its final game of the first phase of the World Cup, taking their tally to 3-2 at the cut off. An outstanding game from Michael Bridgewater has planted the seed of success in the next round. Bridgewater was unstoppable on Monday night, dropping 18-22 from all over the place. " At one point, I saw him chuck up a rainbow 3, something he has been stuffing around at training with when the coach isnt looking" explained Maverick. "It never looked like missing, its a party trick he told his girlfriend he'd dedicate to her while we are away".

Rumors circulating the u21 world are the Good Grief is carrying an injury. The star guard sat for the majority of the game. The coach did not comment on the situation at the press conference, but added fuel to the fire when discussing rotations. "Obviously when we have a guy or two injured, it gives an opportunity for our 2nd lineup to step up and produce, guys like Hughes really did that for us". Hughes first game in the green and gold was fruitful, knocking in two long range 3s.

Australia now eagerly awaits the next round draw. Regardless of their next opponent, there is no such thing as an easy game from here. The eight teams to advance through are Phillipines, USA, China, Russia, Italy, Serbia, Lithuania, and Australia. Number one team in the world, Spain, fell victum to the tough draw, being eliminated despite a 40pt win overnight to Russia.

MVPs
3 votes- Bridewater (39pts, 18-22fg, 8 boards, 16.0 rating).
2 votes- Danxiang ( 19pts, 3x3pters, 3 assists, 2 boards).
1 vote- Santegoeds (13 boards, 5 pts, 14.5 rating).

Bad week for the U21 team we put more effort in and still lost to the Phillipines. We were badly GDP'd which didn't help and while lots of players had issues our PFs going 7/24 in a LP offence designed for them is a horrible result.

yep was disappointing to see tactics worked against us. It is the first game Phillipines havent gone with a slow offense. With our bench bigs the only talls ready to play, they had a hard game against the mighty phillipines bigs in proficient. We really missed bridgewater there. At the same time youve got Santigoeds who shoots 70% from C, so that makes the offense appear to have worked from there. He just needed some help.

MVPs:
3. Santegoeds- 7-10 fg for 15pts, 6 rebs. Also held his man to 5-14 fgs.
2. Hamburger- top scored in his first u21 game, with 17pts including 2 3s from the SF spot.
1. Grief- 11pts, 3 rebs, Grief held his own.

Next up we have world number 1 USA, the draw certainly does not get any easier at this stage. Ill be contacting all managers today regarding game shape and training.
