guys why are you selling players now? Its not like full salaries are being paid, and isnt it worth waiting for a week to get higher TV contract for entire season?

In order to count towards the tv contract then the salaries will have to be paid at least once (8 days from now) so I'm not sure your argument makes a lot of sense.

don't know, buy wouldnt 14 weeks of higher TV contract make up for 1 week of salaries for those guys? Especially since it would move salary cap (that new thing with training exemption) higher and if teams decide to do what GM and Pugs did it would be much cheaper (again, not sure if thats a good thing)

If we argue that the benefit of me keeping a $200K player for an extra week is that I'll make an extra $200k in TV revenue over the course of the season then wouldn't keeping that player for the extra week only be rewarding the other 15 teams in the league with more money while I just break even? ;)

Big difference between what Pugs and GM did.
Frankly not sure what GM's plan is, though probably none of my business,
at least Pug trained 3 guys
GM banked and then spent not to relegate
only to be right back here for another season
Perhaps the draft choice he'll get if he scouted would be the answer, we shall see

Banked money (2-4m more than anyone in our division could) and stayed in the Big 8 (worth many additional millions). Great decision on his part. That's better than the double crown.

I think the Green Machines's plan was pretty obvious, bank money all season and then do whatever it takes not to demote. He's probably set for the draft too. He just realized that he needed to too really load up for relegation series because the Pugs were so strong but probably would have preferred taking on far less salary.

It may not be a strategy that everyone would employ but it's still a strategy nonetheless. Bad luck on the draw but the Pugs will be back in Naismith soon enough.

You guys make it sound more exciting than it really was. At the end of last season I was in the hole close to a million dollars by the end of my failed playoff push. The plan wasn't so much to bank this season as it was to get out of debt and try to stay in Div 1 which was a bit harder than I expected given the low attendance from all the losing. If Pugs had pushed me to three games I would have ended this season barely in the black financially and I think I was lucky to have it end in 2. I also kept Phil this season to make sure he had good GS for the Canada NT push, and decided to keep him for the regulation games. It would be nice to keep him, but unless you are going for it all (and already have a good team) he is too much of a drain on salary to build a team. As for the draft I don't think I'll get a good player as with all the bloody scouting I haven't seen a great potential player...maybe I'll push for the extra 2 pops and get Bastos to 130 TSP have him lead Div 1 in points and not sniff the NT again.

well, thats guiet a beating. i will take it though. Better now than in game 3 :D Lets hope it actually gets that far.
All in all, looking at weird FT shooting and some incredible rebounding stats, extra effort, HCA, bad GDP, score actually isnt that bad :D I am optimistic before saturday and hope that I will be able to take the series to 3rd game and at least get some extra income

Why wouldn't you let LPP win the series so that Canada gets 2 reps in BB? Both of your teams are obviously worthy of spots.
