Analysis of the 1st round of the African Championship
The 1st round is over and I'm proud to say that we have qualified for the 2nd round. It was a fun experience for me, but now it's for the win all the time.
First of all, let me tell you we should be proud of the 6th place. We're better than that, of course, but we are one of the best offensive teams on the Championship run. We scored 100+ in all games, except Nigeria. We are taking a toll on Defense, but that's an aspect we're unfortunate to not evolve at, right now.
Second of all, the line-up will be changed. Constantly. During this 1st round, I was experimenting with how game shapes affect the outcome of some games. Although I was not taking in account the game shapes of players, I will now. I urge to all the coaches reading this to maintain the the game shape of your South African NT player in the best possible level.
In my analysis of the group for the 2nd round I've selected Ghana as the most accessible opponent, with Tounes and Marocco right being them. So, at least 3 of the games against these guys will have to be won.
Wish us luck.
Go South Africa!
