Champions!

Gardens by the Bay has been painted red and white tonight after our victory in the finals at Marina Bay Sands, with the fans behind us all the way.

Marina Bay faced a tough road through the playoffs - starting with Team Steamboat, who had swept all their matchups against us earlier in the season; then MTS, who battled until the last minute for the conference lead; and finally Yusuke, unbeaten during the regular season, dominant in MVP voting - and perhaps, if not for losing his C, the finals could’ve gone differently.

The regular season itself was incredibly tight in the Red Conference. Top clubs were dragged into relegation playoffs - like the Sinsinata Tigers, league champions just a few seasons ago, and Tampines Fusion,Ranked 1st, cup winners who missed the playoffs for the first time in the past decade. The race went down to the very last minute of the regular season - the final match decided everything between 1st and 3rd place, and with it, home-court advantage.

A key moment was the last-minute signing of Marina’s new 6th man, Santi Esteve, who brought a massive spark off the bench. Alongside Helmut, the Dutch guard; Zhen, our PG; Agustin; and the home-grown rising star Tham, they led the team’s perimeter charge. Inside, Cukanovas (2.24 m) and international PF Bradja anchored the paint with strength and precision.

It’s been an incredible season.
Thank you all for making it exciting, competitive, and - above all - fun.

The players and staff are celebrating tonight at Jigger & Pony - open bar! Feel free to join the champions!

Best of luck to everyone for the upcoming season,
RoyBuzz

Congrats on your first SBBL championship Roy! Wrapped it up real quick.

This season was really amazing. I expected Lakers to continue to dominate in the absence of LDS, but Yusuke came bursting through, putting up an amazing 22-0 record too! I wonder if they feel like the 73-9 Warriors now. It's just been like, 3 seasons maybe?

And Marina Bay also had an amazing run. First season back in the SBBL after being relegated in their second full season. I'm really excited to see what's in store next season. The competition is really getting tougher and tougher.
