Well i think we should discuss it in Global thread unless we are going to provide any real suggestions - no need to have two separate discussion, imho.

Closing gap between top teams and other would be a good side effect but it is questionable. Most imporatnat thing is that such a change limits options and for some people limits fun while it brings nothing* only forces us to do something a bit. And for some people like top canadian and japanese teams it can reduce their international competitevness a bit.

*ok it allegedly brings better simulation of reality of non-basketball things. I couldn't care less to get such a thing in BB.
