We are 5 Games into the season and lets just say if last season was any indicator of this league then this year is off to an even more interesting start. West side is Undefeated, Snake is in Rebuild mode, and tons of storylines inbetween, AND 2 cup games in we already have 2 casualties. With that said after a quater of the season lets see what III.7 sportingNews has a power rankings....
#1 Bakers Street--- I know a shock given they have 1 loss, but Hyman Ryder is the REAL DEAL, this team handled BucsBlue immediately following his player additions and has a+45 Point Dif without playing rebuilding Snake yet. This team was for real last season and are back and focused.
#2 West Side--- Easily could be #1 (Big 8 Bias) A team that didn't make playoffs last year due to sacrficing some league wins for cup wins early last season. TIGERS are NOT playing any games. Remi Bois is being a stud as expected and West Side has found the receipe to get it rolling early. Beat Star Studded D2 relegate Marsh handly. West side is For Real!
#3 Marshland--- The D2 Relegate has just 1 loss to undefeated Tigers, but holds the largest LEAGUE Pt Dif...This team is stacked on paper (a 75k & 85k Backcourt...Both getting over 15 Ratings in games). Early season prediction this team WILL be in the league finals (unless they suffer an injury). Game against Lambda could be interesting.
#4 Walnut Street-- at 26 how good is Marc Tremol? He didn't make as big a jump in salary as expected (i believe he was injured? maybe missed training) but this guy could easily be a 100k player. However the team's leading scorers are sub 30k players at PG & PF. This team wins despite its highest salary player being its most productive player. Tremol controls the boards and the other put up the points! Walnut has it going with a high Pt Dif and just 1 loss!
#5 Lambda--- Currently sitting at 3-2 but has the 2nd highest Pt Dif in the league. Could make an arguement for the #4 spot in the power rankings. This team has been a staple in the playoffs and top of this league for multiple seasons. This team has a well balanced starting lineup but the salaries get low for his bench. Great manager keeps game shape in order which allows his starters to play at top potential. has big games against Crosstown & Marsh. Is Lambda a real contender?
From here its very Debatable
#6 CrossTown--- Crosstown sits at 6 because of its record but some would say power rankings are about if teams met on a neutral court who would win... Crosstown's ONLY 2 losses are against Undefeated Tigers, and 1 loss Marsh (predicted to get to finals) with that said Crosstown could easily argue why are they not 4 or 5. Well they get a chance to prove that worth with a game against Lambda next! Team salary not scary, they just are balanced and playing well together.
#7 Philly--- Philly comes in at #7 over Warhawk... Philly still has the Reigning MVP and he's not even their leading scorer. Cutler is on a rampage! 20+PPG & 15 Rebs! if he keeps up that productivity and Fischer the MVP gets going look out! Loss to Crosstown kept them from #6 spot. this team has potential but they sit at 7 because how far can they really go?
#8 Warhawks-- Why does this team come in behind 2 other 3-2 teams? its quality of wins! (3 wins are against Snake, Homeboyz n Mitsubishi) 2 of those teams has red Pt Diffs & Mits has a 5 injury to its 2nd best player. Plus Warhawk just got beat by 30 to BucsBlue who doesn't have a winning record! Warhawk was helped by its schedule and the weakness of the Big 8 could go 4-3 in early conf play (thats NOT good)
#9 BucsBlue---Yes you can argue this is a Bias selection, BucsBlue is 2-3 (how do they jump both Mits & UNC) Both have better Pt Dif not to mention Mits BEAT BucsBlue game 1 of season. Here it is...1st Mits & UNC have 4 wk injuries to 30k+ players, 2nd Mits win over Bucs was by 5 TIE vs Norm. And Bucs just beat 1 loss Warhawk by 30! On a neutral court who'd you pick? Bucs, Mits, Unc?
