Helps explain why a team (me) that was just promoted is in first in the Big 8 (meaning it's obviously the weaker division. I'm just happy it helps sell out my stadium...

I feel very fortunate to have been relegated to the big 8 side of this league. I was prepared to spend big time to promote back to D.II but the weakness has allowed me to get some great young talent on my team and buy some time before having to spend.

That's one piece of advice I will give everyone who wants to promote to D.II. you better have some young talent or you will be a mediocre team stumbling whining trying to improve your team. I personally went for it all and lost in the championship in D.II about 4 seasons ago and my team has been horrible since because I didn't have youth. Youth is an asset that can get you where you want to go.

Please explain what you mean. Are you saying that you must keep young trainees in the pipeline?

Yes, young trainees are an asset. They can help your team in multiple ways. One being the ability to sell for lots of money to buy players to contend. The next is the ability to have players play better than their salary ( given they are being trained). And another way they help is by giving you the opportunity to train them to fix weaknesses ( example-if your defense needs improved you can make it better).

If you do sell a young guy, make sure to have another to take his place to give you continuous flexibility.

I made the mistake of selling all my youth and bought older players to compete. However, during that time I didn't train either so my flexibility was destroyed. Then I was just hanging around in D.II with no way to get back to being a competitive team because my older guys couldn't sell for much so I didn't have any way to get better.

that is true, had not thought of that...their salaries are fixed based on their skills at the beginning of the season.
And older guys who are losing skills are playing BELOW what you are paying them. Interesting.

another 7-1 night for Great 8. lets see, that makes it 20-4 through three sets of games. take out Indy and Great 8 record would be 20-1

any bets on which team will win the All Star game?

The Great 8 is too strong. Even the 6th place team has a winning 6-4 record.

8 Indy Super Saints 0 10 -433

Indy is winless, has been outscored by 433 points....

HOW in the HELL is Indy still in the Cup? for me, second Cup game I get a VERY good D.IV team. Indy's first three games were BOTs.

arrgh.

Two comments to that-

1. I won't beat you with him because, well, I haven't paid a whole lot of attention this season.

2. Your better off if he doesn't sell because if he does I'm loading up my team haha.

Great 8 has another 6-2 week over Big 8.

Ron Reaves Reno Gamblors 4 $ 40 428

Hate to see Ron Reaves go down with 4 Week injury. Folks 4 weeks+ 6 to 7 games. That is close to a third of the season. Will make it hard for Reno to stay in 2nd place, one would think.
