Canada @ Australia 63-89
That went down as expected. The difference was a bit high, but we had a horrible game shape and the bench brought almost nothing to the game (2-18 FG). In addition, some player had not their best day. The only player who played was Burimenko, but one player is not enough. Overall it was a well deserved loss against a good opponent.

India @ Canada 49-111
From the very beginning, the situation was clear. We have to win and at least with +18 to beat Brasil to be the best american team after the first round. And the team did it - already in the first quarter. But I never had the shadow of a doubt, that this team will manage it to stand on top and be the top challenger for the host of the next continental championship.

Overall, the first round gone down as I thought, not better and not worse. Good thing is that we are Nr. 1 of the Americans. But there is not time to rest. And the fight for the HCA is between Brasil and us. Next round is in Indonesia. For you guys, the game is somewhere in the middle of the night, for me it´s around noon, so i can watch the match. The Indonesian team is a good one and they beat quiet easily Argentina in their home country. It will be a tough challenge. But Brasil have to fight in Slovenija, also not a must-win game. It will be interesting, who will fight harder to get the price.

Congrats!

Honestly your manager rating should be much higher for the work you put in!

1) Seeing how Americas HCA is the goal this year, how is this game not a crunch? :?

2) Seeing how we played LI, how is it they fouled 4 times all game and we had 0 free throw attempts!?!?!?!

Yes, you are right with with point and and I thought also about it, but at the end I was sure to have a chance anyway against them. But I was also surprised by the CT of them. But that was my mistake, fore sure.
But your second point, I don´t know what to say. I experience a lot of strange game in the last few week, also with my club. Looks or feels like they are testing something with the engine, even if I know, it is of course not the case.

In addition, the game was lost on SF. Both of the indonesian SF´s were topscorer of their squad and on our side Madiar had not his best day with 6-21 FG. Also turnovers are a topic to their advantage. The next fact is the quiet unbalanced foul"management". They scored 16 Point from FT and as you mentioned ... we got nothing. To be honest, I don´t remember if I experienced something similar like this. If this is getting usual, it is a huge advantage for the hometeams.

Overall, it didn´t felt like a well deserved loss. But I can´t really put a finger on it, were I could have done something different. Even a crush would not bridge a 26 points gap. But, I didn´t make a good enough job to advance in the tournament. And so I root for Slovenija and hope the best.

But, I feel I am not done here. And i hope for your votes in the next elections.

I thought about starting Russell-Jones, but I decided to go with the more offensive skills of Madiar. But maybe this was the wrong key decision. But from what i have learned from the game, offense > defense.

I would have crunshed if I saw his CT coming. My mistake was not to check what was in for him. His victory will give him probably the HCA in Asia next season. There was missing some experience in games like that. I was never in such a position before. With Saudi-Arabia and India, the almost unreachable goal was to reach the second round. And with Germany, you have to win the tournament to be the host the next season. So, it was my mistake ... clearly. But i never expect a mistake due to inexperience ... after 37 season. But, like in life, you never finished learning.

I don't want to speak too definitively on the subject since I'm sure there are some offense first teams out there that have had a lot of success in BB, but I'd be willing to bet that most B3 managers out there would agree that defense > offense.

I can just speak from my time as German NT. And every time when I focused on defense, I lost badly.

I would have crunshed if I saw his CT coming.

But even without having foreseen the CT, what was the logic to playing normal in this game? Did you really think you would be able to beat Italy next week? I mean, it wouldn't be impossible, but it would have been very unlikely.

Overall, I do feel like you've made some mistakes during your time as Canadian NT manager, but I like your attitude and I do appreciate the amount of work you've put in. In the event that this is the end of your run as NT manager, I'd just like to say thanks for doing your best.

I will candidate again, but the rest in your hands. But it was an honor and a privilege to manage your Canadian NT

If somebody is wondering, why his player is not in the NT anymore, we are playing a scrimmage against Germany with just a U27 team. This means all players will be 27y and younger. The fun fact of this game is Canada has a German manager and Germany has a Canadian manager (Woody). So it´s time to beat up my home country a bit
