That is exactly what I was planning to do. I don't really have time to fight for staying in div2, so I'm doing 1on1 training this season, and maybe next too, and then sell 2 or even 3 of 5 I'm training now. Altarriba is going to be listed this season anyway, but right now I'm at the salary floor anyway, so basically having him in the lineup doesn't cost me a penny. And towards the end of the season I'm hoping to get 4-5 million for him, maybe more, and that should be plenty to get back to div2 when I have to.

PS. since you are U21 check out this Zidanenko guy of mine. He's 19 and 75 tsp, but with only 1on1 (meaning no OD/ID training) he might never be good enough for U21, so if there is anyone interested in giving him proper U21 training let me know, I'm willing to sell.

I might want to buy Zidanenko back if you don't need him!

Edit: although I just bought a 19yo HoF (not canadian) so not sure he will fit in my training squad

It's not that I don't need him, but if U21 needs him more I'm willing to sell.

Cletus - bbmail me if you want to buy. I will be away till Friday though.

Honestly training 1 v 1 for many seasons with a bunch of high potential trainees is a waste. They look great on the transfer market but imo it ruins the players for future managers or trainees.

Personally I think you should properly train three off those platyes and get the others into hands of others willing to train them.

A bit 1on1 ist not wrong. especially for guards. Taking in account the elastic effect will lift you player quiet quick. For guards, the quickest way to the target is 1on1, OD, JR, JS, and passing. This is the perfect and the quickest way to train a guard in general, because it will use the elastic effect properly.

But I agree with you, training 1on1 for a long time ist just a waste of time and talent. You have to stop an change training at the right spot.

I never said many seasons, or a long time. I said:
I'm doing 1on1 training this season, and maybe next too

And after that leave 2-3 (most likely 2) trainees and do one position training (OD, IS etc.).

Just to clarify some things - I don't think I'm a training expert, so every piece of advice is welcome. However I've trained players that reached tsp over 130 so I also know that what I'm doing is not wrong.

I feel like I am in a similar situation here. I don't completely want to go, but want to go on auto-pilot. I decided I will be demoting to d2 or d3 and training players for Canada. Best wishes.
