10/12/2007 Balls of Steel 121 - 74 (Replay) TEAM NY BALLERS

was my first game. I know, I just go through the motions here. In my retirement it is something to do.
I think I will play for another 10 seasons, 3-4 years. then I will self-impose retirement.

Best to you

Sorry to see you go. Season 7, wow that's a good run! Make sure to transfer list your players. Any tips for the rest of us?

I started a long time ago too, played for about 20 seasons, then took a several year break. Started back up somewhat recently. There's really no competitor to this game. Best of luck

I will retire at the end of the season and list players if I can't find someone to buy my team. I'm not allowed apparently, which I'm not a fan of, but thems the rules.

I joined with a friend and we both have lost interest and have been going through the motions for years. Long gone are the glory days of the game but still can be super fun. Just time to go

But not before one last run!

I totally get it. I took 2 seasons totally off, logging in once every few weeks to keep from going Bot. After losing last season, I really don't know how much I have left. Losing 100-150k a week to contend gets old, only to be broke if you do promote. Training is excruciating, and the Draft is still one big giant turd of a joke.

But every couple seasons, I go all in, try and make a run and see what happens.

If this is the end Burger, good luck!

EVERY ....SINGLE.....COMPLAINT you have could have come straight from my keyboard!

what I have most is the price of staff salaries keeps going up. lower their effectiveness, not raise their salaries.....ARRGH..

(all this is making me think about selling off my team and going back down to DIV IV!!

Staff Salaries are completely off the rails. You used to consistently get ADVANCED Dr and PR for 5-10k with 7-10k salaries.
Advanced Trainers for 10-20k with 10-13k salaries. That's with Massage focus.

The problem with D4 is that again, you will have to lose 100-150k a week to promote, because the balance of salaries and income is way off kilter.

No, I was slapped all last season. Its why I had to sell my stud 90k SG to keep training my PG. Its only on players that you have not trained.

I didn't mean for it to turn into complaints. It's a great and deep game. Plenty of shortcomings but for every one are 10 great things.

Burger,
Its not about complaints. I have been at this since season 12. Clearly it brings some things to the table as we have been at it for years. But at the same time, It is 90% the same game as it was in season 12.
Draft Wise, there are more ways to spend your points, but if you spend weekly for 10 pts a week. you do not have adequate information to draft wisely or competitively.
They minorly adjusted training, and added expensive coaches to help rookies, but that is for the D1 and 2 teams (and small country teams) that have real ticket sales. D3 teams can barely afford to compete, much less spend for all the asst coaches.

To me Drafting and Training is the basis for any franchise sports game be it BB, Madden or 2k.

I agree with that. Training is the only thing that kept me going for years (literal-human-years). I train guys until about 21-22 after drafting (if lucky, but mostly buying) a stud rookie. Then I sell them and start over. The training pops are what it has been about for me. I don't care about going to the NBBA or winning that, and I probably couldn't anyway! I can make it to D2 and stay with ease with my money but once there, I don't like not having the freedom to do what I like best ...TRAINING POPS!

Drafting is awful, you are right. That's the end of that story pretty much.
Training is great and I like how it has secret sauce built in. I don't want that to change, ever. If everyone knew all the formulas, exactly, then that would be a huge miss.
