Meta= mechanices or at the very least that's what I was refering to. Specifically the hidden counters that I like to call it. For instance. OD actually does counter inside scoring. The meta is mostly the hidden tweaks in the game engine that aren't explained in the 'manual'. While stats are great and getting them actually does help there are ways around getting bruisers. For instance a balanced player vs a player who is heavily trained in a few attributes have similiar DMI ( in most cases..since the main skills have heavier affects on DMI) While they perform at different levels there are things I like to look at that I call "hidden effects"..for instance a team who have an average of say Respectable passing on the floor gains a significant boost in scoring that doesn't show in the stats. They are more likely to complete their baskets as well. And I am starting to think that having higher passing affects offensive rebounds too ( You see this in real life where a "shot" was actually just a bad pass that they took for the dunk)

I've got plenty of ideas that I'm willing to share but I don't want to rant too long. Let me know what you think.

I agree...we have improved quite a bit. It helps that I'm not bottom feeding just sulking in the corner this year ;)

Ah, gotcha. I fully agree that there are MANY hidden counters / attributes / tendencies within the game . . . which is one of the reasons I love the game. I have never heard all that referred to as 'meta' . . . but it makes sense, I like it.

I would love to know your thoughts in the area. Obviously I will share mine as well. Let's start a new thread for that . . . I know a couple of the other managers in here would dive in . . . and the newer managers would certainly have the opportunity to benefit.

So looking back . . . do you regret selling Bumbul? Zandaus is a stud, and Benizri is fantastic as well . . . but Bumbul was special.

Actually I regret selling my orginal Trainee Steven Smilee. He was not only a monster but the most balanced player I will ever be able to produce and at the SF position with Tremendous OD and ID he was quite literally a terror. Bumbul was great for points but Smilee will always have that special regrett tied to him.

Good call. I don't believe I ever had to deal with him . . . but Pappy (Dog River RiverDogs) said he was a beast back in the day.

A GREAT small forward is such a weapon . . . and so hard to train, and SOOOO expensive!!!

yeah if I'd kept him two more seasons..he would have sold for around $10 million. I sold him for 6.5 as it was. He was a NT starter back then. (I miss that guy he was always fun to play)

I'm so confused. How do I prefrom WORSE against Londo (who has a lower defensive rating by Far than Dawgs) when I CT them and TIE the Dawgs? Then I lost by 20 points...*sigh*

Just an opinion, but I think your Offensive Flow skill level directily effects how well the Patient offensive tactic works. I've always believed the Patient tactic is one of the harder ones to use. Too many things can go wrong if your Offensive Flow is a little low.

Sometimes you have to play around with the different strategies to find which one best fits your squad.
