It's nothing against you, but with nothing else to burn enthusiasm with, i felt i had to respect the other two teams and put forth my best effort.

If its any consolation, there's not much i think you could've done differently. You had to probably TIE to be able to CT the #1 or #2 seed to have a real chance of getting to the conference finals, where you probably had to CT again. Maybe a normal would've sufficed, maybe playing me to patient you since thats what i did all season, but for the most part you basically got eliminate a game or 2 earlier.

you know, i've thought that this season, i had to be in one of the toughest leagues in the division, but i wasn't sure how to go about quantifying it. i think i've come up with a decent metric. now, yes i know that money doesn't say everything, and that salary doesn't tell the story of estimated current incomes due to decay or improvement, but i think it's a pretty solid ballpark metric. usually salary has an extremely strong correlation with winning. it's the best predictor i've been able to find over my years playing this game. however, when comparing leagues to leagues, having a total salary is extremely misleading due to teams tanking, and some just being top heavy. i decided that i would take the top 5 teams from each conference in terms of wins, accounting for 10 teams per league, and find out the total salaries between the different leagues. i considered just doing playoff teams, but that doesn't quite tell the story of the difficulty to entry into the playoffs, and also avoiding a relegation series, which i think both factor into how "tough" a league really is. all that said, here are the results, listed highest total salary to lowest total salary. dividing them by 10 gives you the average salary of the top 10 teams (in terms of standings, not wins) in the leauge. without further ado, here is how the leagues stack up against one another:

1 - III.15 - $2,746,345
2 - III.7 - $2,705,501 <---my league
3 - III.16 - $2,662,063
4 - III.13 - $2,499,216
5 - III.11 - $2,497,514
6 - III.8 - $2,466,445
7 - III.12 - $2,289,008
8 - III.3 - $2,271,410
9 - III.5 - $2,234,385
10 - III.4 - $2,192,685
11 - III.14 - $2,165,297
12 - III.1 - $2,083,316
13 - III.10 - $2,076,643
14 - III.2 - $2,060,135
15 - III.6 - 2,043,725
16 - III.9 - $1,996,066

thought it might be interesting for all the other leagues to see

No hard feelings man -- I'd expect nothing less in a competitive league.

Shouldn't have underestimated the 8 seed!

I just wish i had a bit more skill on my trainees and a bit more cash. With my 22 year olds at 94 and 86 TSP at seasons end i feel i might have had a shot to stay up next season and be competitive for the 4th spot in the playoffs (As they would've projected to at least 102 TSP and 94 TSP by the end of those seasons, which is closer to the caliber of talent needed in D.III i would think).

There are 9 players that i feel are legit enough to be used in this draft (with all 18's and half the 19's scouted). Hopefully i can use them to gain some funding and make a better run at it next time.

A Classic matchup in League III.1 - Serapo Gaeta vs Call Of Cthulhu
In the last 4 seasons the played against each other 14 times, 3 in the playoffs
Record is 13-1 for Call of Cthulhu
They are the better team this year as well, so I'll need 110% from my players for this uphill battle
I really hope CTH promotes to Div II, he deserves it (and I'm tired to lose against him LOL)
Good luck

Think that your POCT vs Rahway dooms most of your chance here.

Never assume a victory by my team in the playoffs. I have a way of screwing the pooch every year.

This game makes no sense. I play look inside and my team settles for jump shots for the entire second half. There should not have been one shot outside of 3 feet based upon the matchup. The sim makes its decision before tip off and then fills in the details on how to get there. I know for a fact that 3 pt percentage goes down when you play with an inside focus when there is no reason that it should.

His scrubs were dunking on the league mvp all night. Not realistic at all. Win or lose, this is the final season for Cthulhu
