It's funny, I've seen players with inept rebounding that average 10+ RPG. It seems to me defense has a bigger influence on rebounding than the actual rebounding stat.

First of all, there is no difference between offensive and defensive rebounding. A rebound can be either, depending on which team actually grabs the ball. And I am pretty sure that more than one skill goes into the calculation of who gets a rebound, just as more than one skill is used in just about every calculation in the game.

Keep in mind that super aggressive players also foul out quickly... (and will they get injured more often?)
I prefer "normal" players.

If you had to guess, how much weight would you give to just the rebounding skill for picking up rebounds?

Honestly, I really have no idea. I am a big believer that rebounding is big key to success so for me, the higher the rebounding skill, the better.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Important to rebounding or important in general? I don't think it has any influence on rebounding, but unlike most managers, I do think it has an influence on defense, particularly inside defense.
