Last but not least, what will happen next season?
Well, there is a consolation tournament that will assign home field to next African cup. This is our very tough goal for next season. Very tough as we will have to do better than Misr and Nigeria in a tournament with complex rules and indirect comparison. But we have to point there. We have a decent roster basis, we have a proven match preparation process, so this is where we will start from.
More important, we will have to improve our talents' growth. This season we concentrated to have a team first (we started with several problems), than to expand it (see Mtolo and Rabutla). The db is built and regularly updated. Many players are growing quite well. This is what should be improved.
I don't give you details right now, as I am discussing it with my staff first. Let me just point out few things:
1) more players will be directly followed by me. It was not possible this season because of priorities, but I will do it next one
2) I am rediscussing scout assignment. I renew my invitation to join the team to anybody with a) commitment b) some experience c) willingness to help South Africa. You will cooperate with senior people and myself, and - I can assure you, I did it! - you will take a lot of experience out of it.
3) the goal is to set the basis for S14 onwards, bringing the talent growth process up to cruise speed.
