You really haven't paid much attention to how I've played, have you? Winning home games has never been too important to me, since they have generally not impacted attendance and therefore revenue. Not certain how much that has changed with the revised attendance coding this season, but I haven't really revised my approach yet. I don't look that far ahead to know if I will consider the games against either of you as that important to win or not. At equal effort levels, I think either of you would have a good chance of beating me, even at my arena. The question is whether or not each of us will decide to TIE or Normal the particular game. lol

I'm actually surprised by my season so far. Certainly getting bounced out of the cup the first week (because I decided to see if I could play it as a true scrimmage against a D.IV team - guess not) has helped my league record. I think GS_Warriors is actually the favorite for the Big 8. I got lucky playing him early and then put in more effort, but it still took double OT for me to pull that one out. I suspect he'll win the next one, even though it will be on my court.

Originally I'd been thinking that this would be the last season for this core group and I'd be starting a small rebuild at the end of the season. Of course, I was expecting to be in the 3rd - 5th place, and therefore have a good opportunity to sell off some of my older guys towards the end of the season when others would be looking for playoff boosts. If my good fortunes continue, I will have to consider being one of those looking for playoff boosts myself. But we'll see how the inter-conference plays goes - I certainly don't expect to have an easy time of it. Then I'll re-evaluate again.

Well, I won't be throwing either of the games, no. And since I'm not in the cup, I don't have to worry about saving any of my better players for that third game of the week. My roster rotation is based primarily on training, a little bit on match-ups and experimentation.

But I don't feel that I'm clearly a better team than either of you, so I won't be going into either game feeling that I "should" win it. Might win it, yes, but I suspect both to be competitive games. I'm not really treating those games as particularly more important than others. Well, I guess the game against JFro is a little more important, as it's a TV game, but I only have one home game between it and my next TV game, so even that one isn't as important as some TV games are. And I haven't beaten you since season 20.

Personally, I'd actually prefer not to bot promote, as not getting that attendance boost the next season would suck. Especially with a team that may be very likely to relegate back down right away. I'd take it if it happens, but it isn't something I'd ever be actively planning for. I am liking how things have started out; just don't see my 7-0 record as really pulling me away from any of the 6-1 or even 5-2 teams in our league.

Home court advantage in the play-offs is important, so trying to hold on to that is certainly something I'm working for. Which really means I am concerned about both of you beating GS_Warriors, Crusadersx and Red Pandas as much as I'm looking at my own games against you. I'm actually rooting for both of you to go 7-1 against the Big 8. And if you beat me, 8-0.

Yes PD is off because of that. I played normal. It made me play tie the next week on the road vs DHS and that was my loss

I agree that one of the fun things about the league has been that it's largely been teams competing within their means rather than a lot of "arms race" teams. I can't really think of any team who has really loaded up down the stretch in ay attempt to "win now". Sure, there have been teams which have added key players down the stretch of a season, but it's generally been something that makes sense rather than a desperate attempt to "buy" a promotion and then fall apart.

Btw, looks like my undefeated season will be ending tonight. Apparently Ted Eller doesn't like to play 3-2 defense so decided to foul his way to the bench early. Very unusual given he averages less than a foul per game.

Woohoo I took out the last unbeaten team! I think that was the first time I played anything other then take it easy this season and the only reason I did was because there were talks of a perfect season... now that I look at it the talks of a perfect season weren't from him. Ha oh well.
