All I can say is that once again I hope he is ready to play me at home in a CT :) I need the cup money.

Not exactly the same as you but in the 5th round last season I started a nice run where I played the Jugglers (in a crunch), followed by you and then the Rockets. The season before that, I drew the Toastifiers in the 5th round before being outsted by the Rockets in the 6th round.

Just thank your lucky stars that you got a home draw both times and that you did not draw Torooo or Random Noise. Also, I bet right about now that the Rockets would easily swap draws with you (his team will be on the golf course next Thursday).

I guess some perspective can help... ;-)

Sure, but you guys are Naismith teams so you can handle it.

I'm only a Div II team.

Of course I'm not ready to play at your place against a CT. You have a huge advantage, being a mid-level Naismith team talent wise that can focus on the tournament. Good luck in future rounds.

Were you doing some kind of mean laugh as you wrote that? You may be a division II on paper but in my mind you will always be a Naismith team. Plus you have a level of flexibility this season that most of us in Naismith simply do not have.

It's true, I've never been able to focus on the tournament like this before, it's different. I usually hope for bots, and then go out the first time anybody plays a decent lineup.

No matter, I'll find some way to screw up.

Here is what I think are the most interesting match-ups next week:

16 II Serenity Now! @ Jugglers II 15

The Jugglers have had a pretty easy run so far and their team is in pretty good game shape. They are also at home. Serenity Now! holds an edge in the historical series: 6-3 (5-3 if you take away his scrimmage win). I think this is as close to a pickem that you can get... Who wins might depend on who wants it the most.

14 II Lawrence Park Panthers @ I Wor Kuen II 57

If you just look at the rankings it seems that the Panthers have a huge edge. But I would never underestimate chris902, plus he is at home.

4 I Paper Pushers @ Secret Agents I 12

My team did not get a great game shape update, my back-up C is out for two weeks and we are on the road... On the other hand, The Mogul's team is not exactly in fine form, either. Barring a crunch from The Mogul, I should be able to win this one, but will likely have to tank one of my league games to do it. Oh well, I didn't really need to finish 2nd this season, did I? On the other hand, The Mogul has surprised me before so I know it will be a close game if he decides to go for it.

6 I North East Point Toastifiers @ Flying Yorts I 19

Both of these teams are having a tough go in Naismith this season, at least so far. Still, NEP has a much better roster on paper. Even on the road, they should be able to beat the Yorts. NEP normally likes to save his energy for league play but he surprised in playing his best line-up to take out the Rockets. My guess is he will do the same here.

41 II O-Rods Rockin Rockets @ Super Krew II 13

O-Rod is coming off an extremely close win against Beanz Odyssey and he hopes to repeat that magic against Super Krew. He will be in tough, though, as he is on the road and Super Krew certainly look like they are the team with more talent. Still, if both teams put their best rosters out, I expect a close game.

These are important games as the winners move on to the round of 16 and avoid a possible week of team training. The losers just get to enjoy the allstar break.

Good luck everyone!

This season has also started to make me really confused about rankings. I started the season ranked 15 in Canada, moved up to 13, and have now dropped to 16 after a win against a Naismith team. Weird.

Some have said that I have already complained too much about the ranking system - so I will refrain from commenting.

Just for the record, if you look at who I had to play in league play the week I drew Rockets, it may help you deduce why I played my best lineup. (:
