Ok I can do that if that happens (unlikely, but kinda worried after hearing little bit of yodabig's story :P).

So should I put myself as the candidate as well now?

Which part of Sri Lanka did you visit? (ofc it's a small island, so probably Colombo?). I live in Sri Lanka, so I'm curious to know where you visited, when you visited and so on :)

Well the funny thing is Sri Lanka is one of the few nations I have been to where I never visited the capital. We were visiting during the election (1999-2000) and things were hairy. When we arrived the airport was in lockdown and at first we thought it was some sort of scam but a suicide bomber had attempted to assassinate the PM the day before and there were bits of head and hair on the front page of the newspaper. Welcome to Sri Lanka.

Before we even arrived we had done some research. Sir Lanka is perfectly safe as long as you don't go to the north. Or the east. Or the south. Or the Capital.

So once we were allowed to leave the airport we went straight to Kandy. It is like paradise on Earth. Spent ages there and it seemed so nice. Funny some UN election observers were staying in our hotel and we said, "The election is going well."

They replied, "Except for the 1,073 reported incidents of electoral violence." Gulp.

We were even visiting a small town one day, it all seemed fine to us but back at the hotel we heard there had been an election related murder there.

Anyway it was beautiful and full of awesome historic sites. We visited Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya (As an Arthur C Clarke fan I had wanted to go there for years) and Anuradhapura (right now I am touching a leaf from the Sacred Sri Maha Bodhi - the oldest historically documented tree in the world).

Finally we went to Negumbo for a short break before flying to India.

wow...not a very good impression of Sri Lanka if that's that happened the first thing you arrive at the airport.
But the civil war is over now and the country is now developing its infrastructure fast (or trying to, from what I can see :P).

Actually there were frequent suicide bombers and bus being bombs here and there, but that was usually outside Colombo. Colombo has too many soldiers and police on the streets, so it was probably one of the safest place at that time.

Wow nice :) so you've visited most of the tourism sites. I feel that Sri Lanka is a great country to visit for 1-2 weeks holiday because it's a small island and yet there is good number of tourism sites, unlike India because it's too big and there are million places to visit, so it's endless.

I remember when I climbed up Dumbulla's one of the temples, this monkey came and stole my flowers...and ate them :P

So now I'm registered as the candidate for the election. But people don't vote for me. I already voted for myself. One vote will be enough.

my biggest danger now is probably overeating

Overeating is good for you. I have a couple of competitive eating contest trophies, they're sitting next to a marathon medal, powerlifting trophy, and a table tennis trophy. I've had an eclectic sporting career ;)

Hope that people won't vote for you dude. That would be kind of... embarrassing in relation to Yoda's effort. LOL!
