Good luck. I think it will be difficult to sell your players at the prices you listed them at. It's better to put a low-average price on players and hope there is a bidding war, then to price them above suggested market value (especially if you want them sold quick so you can start gaining more cash ASAP). I'd also recommend putting players up for auction to end in the early afternoon as that's when most people are online (Europeans).

Cheers

Thanks. I will definitely keep that in mind with the auction times. I just put it up today, since I assume Friday night, there may be quite a few people who are looking. For now, I'll go high to see if there is any interest immediately. If any aren't sold, then I'll adjust accordingly. Thanks for the advice.

I'm also not a fan of putting up all the players at once, especially for players that would attract the same buyers. But then again, I'd probably recommend being a middling team that tries to avoid relegation too.

Hmm that's true. But in the case where I put all my players on the market, there should be a chance that a few or one gets sold and then I'll adjust accordingly as to who to put on the market next time, since there still is a player floor cap.

Not trying to be a downer, but I think you'll be very lucky to sell any players at the prices you listed them at. You should reconsider your tanking technique and try to avoid relegation. It seems like you spent a lot of seasons in D.III getting here and it would suck to start from scratch again. At the very least you should keep some semi-young/multi-skilled players (23-28 yo) that you have already so if you do get relegated it will be a quick turnover to get back into Div 2 in a season or two. IMO

Edit: Also remember that we are only 2 games into a 22 game season. Anything can happen.

Personally, I think I should at least see the market and see if my players garner any interest. It's true, I have been re-thinking about my tanking approach as I'm sure my team can compete for the playoffs, but Im lacking a franchise cornerstone for seasons to come. To be honest, I spent a lot of seasons training, trying to earn $$$ from selling and buying, and going after cup in D.III (Alas, I also trained and sold the wrong players...). I figure if I keep some of my rotation players with my prospects, I'll be able to promote in 1 season back to Div 2 with a quick 750k+prospect training too.

On another note, I could just prioritize training, fall back on the standings and attain a high potential prospect, without getting rid of my main core. That would solve the fact that I still retain my core and get a future stud, though it'll be a costly move with less financial incentive.

Edit: It's true that we're only 2 games in, but it's quite costly to build a contender. I'm 100k over the player floor and there seems to be 7 teams that are paying more in player salaries in total and top 8 players. Not to mention, there's roughly 4 teams that are paying an extra 100k in player salaries over me. Personally, I think this is the best time to cash in and retool the next few seasons.

Oh, just wondering, how was the experience in season 38 in our league and season 39 in division 3? I believe you tanked in our league 2 seasons ago. Just want to hear your experience, as I may do the same for high end prospects and prospect training.

I have tried the tank and regretted it. There may be 1, 2 if you're lucky, players in the draft worth tanking for and it looks like you may have some competition in the tank efforts. On the other hand, I am very much going for promotion this season, as I assume a few other teams are as well. My recommendation would be try to keep as low a salary you can while training and trying to pick up enough games to either make playoffs or have a substantial advantage in the relegation series.

Thanks for telling me about your experience with tanking. However, if I have to choose between competing and financial incentive, I'll choose financial incentive as even if I do promote, I would lack cash funds to compete in Naismith. I'll have to see if my players sell for a lot first (and a few more tries on the market). If they don't, I may swing for competing and sell rotation players, cutting my depth chart.

Tanking or not tanking both have their merits, but I would say if you're not going for promotion, then you should either be making alot of money or training up good players (or both). Without these things, progress is tough and slow to come by.
