Anyone still playing? ;)

How are things shaping up for the finish of the season for people.

Lopez looks like a handful for the Great 8 side, and without the HCA (unless he gets careless with his enthusiasm), I expect he will win the conference. Not sure how things will go on the Big 8 side though. Just cannot pay enough attention, I think the Sharpshooters will take the Division simply by the physical play they exhibit.

Should be a fun run to the finish line, might be looking for some last minute trades to upgrade a position with some greybearded beast. Just need to see how it will playout.

Well I would have to say that it is going to be me coming out of Big 8. Hoping you will beat Lopez so I can gain HCA in playoffs. :)

I never thought I would be this good in season 2 of Division 3, but it works.

I agree, I think the Sharpshooters are gonna pull it out in the Big 8. Seeding in the Great 8 is still very interesting at this point.
Lopez has two home games to finish off the season, but it is to Morton's Minors (who are hitting their stride in perfect timing for the playoffs), followed by a game against the very anxious Morrisville Ninjas (all three of these teams are from D.IV.26). Mortons Minors have two games on the road to finish their season off. First, they will be playing Lopez AT Lopez (they remain undefeated at home), followed by the Boozers (who just pulled off a nice upset with high enthusiasm vs. the number one ranked Lopez). Maximus seems to have a pretty easy end to their season, perhaps solidifying them as the three seed. Morrisville Ninjas and Wine County Boozers are battling out for the fourth playoff spot, first matching off against each other @ Morrisville, and then each facing the number 1 and 2 seeds respectfully (see above).
The race has gotten very close here, and it seems to remain down to the wire here at the end for the 1 and 2 seed between the two powerhouses of the Great8 (divided currently by a 3pd in favor of Lopez), including a direct face-off in their next game.
And the battle for fourth and fifth could become very interesting, as the two teams battling will be facing each other next, followed by similar opponents in their last game. The two are essentially divided by a win right now, as the Boozers would most likely win the PD battle.
These tight races will no doubt help the Big 8 again as the end of the season remains fierce down to the last play for the great 8, although three and four could be battling for their positions, and possibly affect some of the enthusiasm in the Big 8.

The MVP race should be a very interesting one as well, as the top candidates seem to be either Cardenas again (with roughly 37 ppg, 3 assists,3 rebounds, and 1 stl)(9208266) or Danny Ellison (with roughly 19.5 ppg, 16.5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks) (11772142).
A few other standout players this season have been Eugene Culp (19 ppg, 6 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1 stl)(6626483), Rodrigo Irala (27 ppg, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and the 3-point champion)[player=(9296234)], Constantin Tholen (32 ppg, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 stl) (9335403), Lucky Do (18 rebounds, 10 ppg) (17742442), Claude Shultis (13 ppg, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block) (14603411), Kristoffer Hollis (18 ppg, 13.5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1 stl) (9207493), Lamont Gossett (17 ppg, 13.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 blocks) (17740659), and Sven Sponeck (16 ppg, 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 stl) (21341864).

Looking at the ages of most of these players, a good number of them seem to be getting up there, and may not be major contributors in a few years. of these players, the ones under 30 are as follows:
Danny Ellison-29 ((11772142))
Claude Shultis-27 ((14603411))
Lucky Do-26 ((17742442))
Lamont Gossett-25 ((17740659))
Sven Sponeck-23 (21341864))

Regular Season is Over. Congratulations to everyone!!!! Good luck to the people who made playoffs, as well as those playing to stick around. Does anyone have any speculations about how the bracket will turn out, and/or what the MVP race will look like?

I think the 2 number 1's in the conferences will face off. I know I cannot beat you at home Lopez. I don't see the Sharpshooters losing either, unless his team fouls out. ;)

As far as the MVP.

I still think Hollis will get more votes that Ellison, he is just a better all around player. But I don't think either of them will take the trophy home. I think it will fall to Cardenas again. He has carried Lopez offensively and still plays well in some of those hidden stats, like defense.

Lucky Do, while he will take home the Rebounding title, Ellison was a better Offensive Rebounder, so I think Ellison will claim higher votes there in the MVP there. It will be a relatively tight race, I think. Some quality players that have really shined this season.

MVP results are out, and its unanimous; Cardenas for the hat trick! Followed by a close race between Shultis and the big men of Mortons.

Dang, what a game changer in game two of the Finals! I shouldn't have played any of my main players, because now the 3 time MVP, and the cornerstone of my team (Cardenas) is out for 2 weeks!

Yeah should make for an interesting last game. I had no thoughts about winning this season, and need probably another year before I am ready for D2, but on the flip side if I end up winning I will not be upset.

Good luck tomorrow.

Question is: where am I gonna focus my team now with Cardenas on the IR list? Can Konrad and Mauceri fill his shoes, or will I have to rely on my inside play?
Since you're not ready, you should probably just play PON then. Haha. I'm definitely ready to promote and stay up in D.II

Well, we've done it! I honestly didn't think I could do this two seasons ago, and now here I am, wow. Thank you everyone for the pleasure of playing against you all, and participating in this great and fun league. Its truly been a treat. I'll be checking up on you all from time to time to see how you're doing. D.IV.26 I'll Alums, I'll be especially looking at you!

And speaking of which, what a return to stardom for Mauceri. Little known fact, he was actually my original Cardenas not but two seasons ago. He was league MVP the season I promoted out of D.IV.26 into this league, averaging 35 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks a game. I'm sure the Ninjas remember him, especially when he came off the bench and dropped 37 on them in 20 minutes during the finals....#sorrynotsorry. He was back at it tonight, scoring 58 points in 46 minutes. Shooting just under 50% from the field.

I will miss you all fondly, but as I said. I will be checking up on you. FYI, check out the progress that Abella and Schofield made this season. They are recorded as making 14,087 a week, and 23,362 a week (respectively). Next season, they will both be making somewhere near double what thy are making now. Check them out next week;)

And again, Best of Luck to all of you, and I hope to see you all in D.II in the future! And hopefully not again because I've dropped back to D.III again:( haha.
