I hate how the Cup tournament promotes thrown regular season games in order to compete for gold and visa versa. All teams should be able to play their best lineups in every game without GS consequences. I believe this should be changed, maybe take out the effect the Cup has on GS and perhaps even use a set enthusiasm lvl as well, like what was introduced this season for the B3.

I suppose it's a fun concept, that these challenges allow for any team at any level to win any game (like march madness) -- but I just hate seeing thrown games in league play and cup play; I feel it's in poor taste. /rant

I agree...However, if you do that, you'd be ensuring that at least 2 of the top 4 NBBA teams make the Finals every single season..You'd be nearly eliminating the upsets of Upper Division teams by Lower Division teams. Basically the cup would become pointless....unless the Cup were a tournament of each division...but then the NBBA Cup wouldn't last very long :-)

I think it's stupid that if a BB athlete plays more than an hour and 10 minutes in a whole week his game shape suffers.

I wish the Game Shape concept would be modified. The spirit of the concept is to force managers to actually manage their team. Without GS issues, you could just set a lineup and let it run....Or you could play guys 48 minutes a game 3 times a week...I think the range should be broadened to only penalize the extremes...if a player plays way too few or way too many minutes his GS suffers.

In real life, if a player couldn't play 36-40 minutes 3 times a week, he'd be laughed off the court. But then again, if we could do this in BB, all of us would be playing our best players in all 3 games each week, and it would make the Cup a non event for lower division teams.

The enthusiasm factor is pretty silly too when comparing it to real life...I mean, who's going to show up and Take it Easy? lol That said, without it, Upsets would be more about some unknown random factor rather than something we can measure. As much as enthusiasm might be a silly concept, I would be very frustrated if every so often, because of some random roll of the dice, my 200k big played like a 35K big to allow for a lesser team to beat me. I wouldn't play a game like that for very long.

Indeed, the game would be less challenging with out these aspects. And I do love the fact, like march madness, upsets exist -- that's exciting. Heck, even injuries I'm fine with. I just hate thrown games...but there doesn't seem to be a way around it without ruining the strategic flair of this game.

Impersonating a GM is not allowed. I am going to have to fine you for that ;)

I think all of your money and the retirement of two of your players is sufficient.

I am much better now, but for the first few years I played this game I was totally addicted....The Real Time element was both awesome and excruciating! Seemed like it took forever in between games....but nothing sucked more than be chomping at the bit for your next game knowing you have to punt it...or even worse, looking forward to that next game and when it starts you realize your opponent either punted or forgot to set a lineup resulting in a walkover.

I thought it added an artistic flair to my username. I use the word flair to make me sound important.

i think it is possible to assemble a deep team at the NBBA level that could field a competitive team three games a week.

the details are tricky, and at this level, you'd have to deal with teams who are out of the Cup, which can provide a real tactical advantage over squads pursuing the Cup and NBBA title (i thought Toronto was doing this last season -- i was wrong).

but the point is that i think that in theory a team could be assembled that did not have to punt any games during the season and still win most.
