Yes Hassan, there is a connection to opponent's strength (though not sure if it's just all about record) in my experience.

Thanks Jase for info but somehow I remember that rule change started before season 28, maybe it began in ss27 or earlier. Can't find the announcement to verify it. If it did start last season than it probably explains why I didn't notice it ... I was on promotion bonus most of the season.

Hmm. Well I didn't really lose many games last season in USA and Utopia, so that would explain why I never realized it was happening. This was a much needed change. It opens up a lot of options for teams, such as rebuilding without relegating. As well as Cup runs more fun. Extra 50k from winning felt pointless when you tanked the road game to save GS and saw the next ticket revenue be in the toilet.

Love it.

This is the first time I've got a PR guy better than Basic. I'm tanking, so I figured might as well see if an Exceptional PR guy would help makeup lost revenue. My merch continued to drop, yay. Hopefully increased ticket sales at least make up for his salary, otherwise...what's the point in them exactly?

i am trying to figure a scenario in which "rebuilding" does not become synonymous with "buying veterans whose shelf-life is expiring". the short answer is, i don't see an alternative.

But sometimes you can't find veterans that fit your skill needs for a certain salary, so you've gotta train one up to fill that hole.

Basically I view anytime that you're training more than 1 player, it's a rebuild. You can't just give both trainees Cup/Scrimmage minutes for 1 position training. A trainee would have to go 48 in league play. That'll cost the team league wins, and used to cost them ticket revenue. Now ticket revenue won't be hurt as much.

You can buy someone whose already semi-trained and 22-23 years old who can contribute in league play as you round out their build, but those guys will be expensive.

Couldn't you just buy talented players and reset your team around the talent you have ?

Sure, if you have solid all-around players. But if the core of your team (say that you trained them for) sacrificed something in order to excel at another area, then you'd need to find out how to fill that sacrificed weakness through other players on the TL.

It's times like this that you need to keep perspective and ask yourself: would it be worth living in Cleveland?
