Jason...stated that I might even be lucky to sniff playoffs. Oh, boy was he wrong. The rest is history

Far it be from me to give a shout out to the silver medalist of Arizona teams but you did, in fact, sniff the playoffs. Some would argue it was a deep inhale that didn't end for 3 NBBA seasons, but one way or another, a whiff was had!

Lol. I had a feeling someone would point out my use of the phrase “sniff.” 😂

I found it amusing how wrong he was, but I believe I never confronted him until, well, I guess now. Sorry Jason. With all due respect to the man, looking back, I understand his defensive behavior towards my meteoric rise to NBBA contention. I was an unproven manager making my NBBA debut and I had made some splashy moves which threatened the hierarchy of the league.

The previous season, before my promotion, Jason had a spectacular NBBA finals series which he just barely lost against, Magiker, one of the greatest American managers of all time whom of which boasted a B3 semi-finalist team and in previous seasons Magiker led USA to its first WC championship. Jason was outmatched and by his own admission, he didn’t expect to challenge for a title that soon; he was still building his team and his trainees were on the younger side. But even so, he nailed the GDP’s against a great manager/team and he was so close to winning a title in a series which he didn’t have HCA — that impressed me and caught everyone by surprise.

By the time I came onto the scene, Jason was a top contender for both Cup/league titles. Having just battled a B3 semi-finalist in Magiker whose team was stacked with top USA NT players... I can see why he may have thought that my two NT players would not be enough to contend in the NBBA — although that statement sounds silly even as I type it out now, when you consider who those two players were. He definitely underestimated the rest of my team. And admittedly, my three trainees had low salaries under 60K with TSP around 120-130 TSP which can be very misleading.

At the end of the day, Jason is a good manager that was just unlucky to run into some amazing teams during his title run. He does have a massive amount of silver trophies, though!

No, he just got tired of working for free I think, but that would be hilarious. BTW: He was a GM, not a BB. I always have an urge to call him GM-Jason still. It just flows off the tongue nicely.

Goodness.. thanks for the trip down memory lane LOL. I do not remember being THAT critical of your moves.... I remember questioning something you were doing but I don't remember it being that mean or that I was putting you down.. but I sure apologize for offending you! I never even knew we had hate involved in a love-hate relationship LOL. Again I'm sincerely sorry if I offended you back then.. I sure didn't mean to.

I was a gm.. and then I started doing some marketing for buzzer beater behind the scenes and they made me a BB... At one point I made contact with some executives at Paramount pictures.. and we came up with a great idea to incorporate the new transformers movie into buzzerbeater and buzzer beater paid me some money and flew me out to Hollywood and I went and met with them to discuss the idea... Unfortunately the main guy that was in charge was a really young kid with absolutely zero sports knowledge or interest... And I couldn't get him to see the bigger picture so nothing came of it.

I wasn't doing as much with the marketing after that and I was staying competitive with my team so it didn't seem right that I would stay or be labeled a BB anymore.

My psychiatrist tells me I need to accept your apology and let this grunge go. She also tells me I need to stop posting my personal memoir to the NBBA forums. I’ll have to think this over give me some time to heal please.

All joking aside, you’re okay in my book, pal. That’s why I have you on my buddy-list right next to great managers such as Shikago of the Milwaukee Lethargy. That’s a huge honor!

I just went back to the s33 NBBA thread to see if I was possibly over exaggerating a bit. Oh, no, it was just as bad as I remembered if not worse: (274367.26) (274367.30) oof. Yeah, admittedly, that fired me up just now. Don’t worry, Jason. I don’t think about it every day like a crazy person. You are forgiven.
