At this point, my only real objective is getting Fabre onto France's U-21 team. If that doesn't happen, I shall forever tell every NT manager to kiss my ass because I have done everything they asked. I hate being led around by the nose and left empty.

Other than that, we are 4-0 in BBM with a tricky match coming up. Nice to be in contention, but no real hope of a trophy.

I just feel like this is a replay of the NY Chunks season with a more attuned manager in his place. That season felt like there was a chance. This one doesn't.

The bookies have also stopped taking bets on who will win the league. However, I am quite enjoying this weird season---maybe it's my middle age blunting my competitiveness. I'm focusing my attention on figuring out the new GE tweaks; ensuring that I get a good W-L record, and possibly make the finals, which will help next season's ST holders and fan survey, which means I'll be able to afford a stronger roster, etc; I am continuing when I can to grow my arena and training somewhat weird players that can get me some advantages to even out my financial disadvantage w.r.t the rest of the league.

I'm out of the cup, after drawing a way too competent d.IV team who saved their A team for me, I've gotten enough BBM losses to know I won't advance (I'm 2-2).

I am also interested in comparing the prospects of my Utopia vs. my USA team. When I rejoined I decided to implement two different philosophies there: the Utopia is all long term planning and the USA team is all about being greedy with wins and team success. So e.g. USA promoted immediately out of IV, and Utopia has been toiling in the bottom league, but now we are at a point where there two strategies might get close to each other in success.

Having a goal oriented Utopia really keep one’s interests going. My Utopia is a training ground for American players. It may have saved me from burn out. The fire burns to help bring home gold for USA U21. I think next season’s worlds team is going to be pretty good.

Yeah I also view Utopia that way. However, given that I was given a blank slate I should have probably flipped it and kept the USA team based on USA trainees and the Utopia based on competition. That way my draftees would have automatically been Americans.

What stopped me from doing that was that I couldn't resist the siren song of the climb back to the NBBA. My first time I went to the NBBA from s3 to s7, and it was obviously a much easier time to do that (though the hard part turned out to be catching up and actually beating managers that had been there from s1/s2). I'm enjoying taking this more panoramic route through the game.

The siren song has no affect on me anymore. Probably never going back.

So, yesterday's appearance of a #1 vs. #1 match was very deceiving: as the prospect of a win away @ Yuck looked hopeless, I decided to focus on training, and I managed to screw up my minutes anyway. Fool.

Really impressive ratings on both sides in X Dominate vs. JCW. The game entered the fourth in a narrow blow out mode, which allows Dominate to win the fourth quarter, and regain the provisional first place by 1 pt.

Team NY debuts a new strategy to deal with scoring leader Hugh Bonilla. Injure him in the first minute of the game. Alas, motorcity's scoring power and double guess cannot be denied.

Motorcity and Globo saved the honor of the Great 8 with their away wins.

Crows is officially back to trying to win games, while also focusing on training and making $$.

Doctors get their ash kicked just a week before likely going bot.

I don't know what to think about ratings anymore

Still undefeated in BBM. Winnable game next week.

Crazy that both 8th place teams are still in the Cup

Nothing burger game day.

I got my hopes up when I saw that IU CT'd to Dominate's TIE, but Dominate held the fort for an impressive win.

Blacksheep wins and grabs 6th place from Two O's who struggle in their prohibitive match against JCW.

Cassville guys took a side bet on who would defend Bonilla best. They'll sort out who won the bet, but holding the top scorer to only 9 points is a real defensive achievement.
