wow.. amazing the difference 1 win makes.. $40k more income from tonights game than last home game! just glad i picked the CT tonite and went with Normal.. his C fouled out in the first 16 mins, and it was all dreamers from then.

tonite may have separated the men from the boyz. gladiators look the team to beat, rangas look strong but that shock early loss could come back to haunt them.

Well done on the win. We played well early but you smashed us in the last 3 quarters.

With an easy cup game this week I thought I might get away with a CT win without a big hit to enthusiasm.

at least winning did something for ya.

i get basically a full house against the cowboys.

then i flog spartans using less enthusiasm and away.

scrape through against Hippos using less enthusiasm and away.

surely the fans are happy... apparently not. i get 85% capacity vs Neeber. arguably one of the biggest games of the season.

damn beasts fans are lazy pricks and dont travel. now i gotta wait another 2 away games before i see gate reciepts again

It is maxbbstats. It is a measure of your best game this season. Typically ABBL teams are above 140, div2 teams around 120, div3 around 100-110 and div4 around 80 or less.

Power Rankings Week 3

1. (3) Gisborne Gladiators - 6-0 (2-0)
The Gladiators scraped through a very tough week with a 2-0 win rate, and moved pass the Beasts to claim the top spot in the Big 8. Courtesy of an OT thriller against the tough Hippo’s and their ability to break through the Beasts full court press. Ftochoyiannos was brought into the line-up this week and seems to have strengthened the Gladiator guards and giving them a serious chance at the title.

2. (2) Saintstars – 6-0 (2-0)

The Saintstars continue to be impressive in the weaker Great 8. With a 1 game lead over 2nd, having flogged 3rd placed Sammydog and winning comfortable over 4th place Ndoiya. Arroyo continues to be a big influence on the Great 8 side of the division with 23.0 PPG, 5th highest in the league.

3. (4) Mad Rangas – 5-1 (2-0)

The Rangas had a big week jumping to 2nd in the Big 8 after convincing wins over the Hippo’s and the Beasts, exactly the same as the Gladiators. Who looked the more comfortable in the wins is hard to say, we will just have to wait until Saturday which will tell everyone a lot about who the favourite for the title is.

4. (6) Be High - 5-1 (2-0)
They returned to form again this week, sweeping CRE and the Tigers with relative ease. However they are still they are unproven against the best teams in the league. The inter-conference games coming up will determine whether they deserve to be so high up.

5. (1) Beasts Red - 4-2 (0-2)
A poor week for one of the title favourites. However it wasn’t an easy week for the Beasts, as they were CT’d by the Rangas and were unable to overcome the Gladiators in the Colloseum. With a matchup with the Hippos awaiting next week the Beasts will look to stop the rot and keep in the title hunt.

6. (9) Ndoiya - 3-3 (1-1)
Ndoiya’s record might only have them sitting 4th in their conference, however with a strong week, accounting for Zed’s Army by 13. And then one of the strongest performances against the 6-0 Saintstars, losing by 15 despite putting in less effort.

7. (7) Sammydog – 4-2 (1-1)
Another week and another up and down one for this side who cant seem to bridge the gap between the middle table side and real contenders. Kuancai cannot be blamed for that as he still leads the league in assists with 10.5 APG.

8. (5) Wagadugu Hippopotamuses – 3-3 (0-2)

The Hippo’s slipped this week to 3-3, after a tough week vs the Gladiators, in which they were very unlucky to lose in OT. Then a loss to the Rangas put a nail in their coffin for a 0-2 week. However it is understandable as they are focusing on a big cup clash.

Power Rankings week 3 (ct'd)

9. (16) Skyhooks Dreamers – 2-4 (2-0)
The big movers of the week were the dreamers who were sitting dead last at the start of the week. They won well in the 2nd half against the Cowboys and Thunder to leapfrog both those teams. They were led by Chan who posted 51 points this week and have the Dreamers sitting just the one position out of the playoffs amazingly.

10. (14) Morning Glory – 2-4 (2-0)

The Glory are back!! With the purchase of 160k center Estoya, they were able to sweep the week against the Tigers and a tight win over the CRE Towers despite losing the last quarter by 20 points. However with the new purchases on the market again already, who knows what next week will bring for this time. One can only assume that they will lose money on the sales.

11. (8) Zed’s Army – 3-3 (0-2)

The Army felt the squeeze this week falling to the improving Ndoiya and 3rd place Sammydog. The losses drop them out of the play-off spot and leave Pabich in equal 1st for the scoring title with 24.7 PPG.

12. (12) AndyGaysTeam 2-4 (1-1)
With a change of management between the two games this week. The Spartans were able to win their last game in charge against the Thunder 101-98. However with the overthrow of the management that had the team at 2-3, they lost again to the Cowboys by 47 points. It will take some great management to keep this team out of the relegation zone now.

13. (15) Tamworth Cowboys – 1-5 (1-1)

The Cowboys picked up their first win of the campaign against the newly introduced AndyGaysTeam. Really there wasn’t a whole lot separating the cowboys and the next 2 teams. Their next game with the Thunder possibly decides who will be finishing 6th or 7th. Expect some fireworks in that one.

14. (11) Bengal Tigers – 1-5 (0-2)
The Tigers had a hard week. However they have shown they can be somewhat competitive against the teams around them, so I wouldn’t count them out despite a poor week.

15. (10) Tilley Thunder – 1-5 (0-2)

The Thunder once again found it hard going as they missed out on an easy win against the Spartans who went bot a day too late for them, resulting in a 3 point loss. They were also overwhelmed by the Dreamers in the 2nd half. Cowboys coming up is a big game for the Thunder this week.

16. (13) CRE Towers 0-6 (0-2)

The Towers are now the only winless team in the division. Unfortunately for the Towers they always look competitive but are unable to close out games or stay in them early. Moylan however is a joint scoring leader with 24.7 PPG. That may be the only thing they take from this season.

+1.. tried to make it +2 but rules are rules :D

this week has been HUGE. The beasts looking to re-tool. the impressive Spartans changing hands. The rangas and the plebs taking their rivalry to another level. Sainsters hitting their strides.. Be High still sitting pretty, despite having no active manager. More action this week than most leagues see in a season :D

No surpirse Glory are selling up, the only direction they were heading was bankruptcy. cant wait to see what the new plan is! hopefully he brings in some 18 year olds and trains up for the future! I just cant get over all those negative point diffs in the red side.. just shows how far ahead Saints and Be High are...

as for the dreamers.. i cant believe we are 1 game ouf of 4th, my plan was to be 3-4 by the end of conference play and am on target to achieve that hopefully.. we were in last simply because out of all the non contenders, we had the hardest opening draw :D

great writeups

the 4 bottom sides all had hard draws to start of because they all played the top 4 teams.

however you seemed to have mad the most of the games vs the bottom 4 and most likely end up 3-4 like you wanted.

whereas the Thunder took a chance to grab some pride vs the Hippos and got their win there. however it set them back against the spartans/andy's. now they need to beat the cowboys to avoid sitting bottom at the end of conference play.

the cowboys have sat back and kept enthusiasm and got lucky with the bot change over. although i would thought they would beat the spartans anyway. now they can try beat the thunder to avoid being last.

and andy's team i have no doubt will finish last and relegate. the win against the rangas might just make it that bit more difficult for the cowboys and thunder to get over them. but they should be able to do so.

ps. the gladiators not the plebs

Wow, was super interested to read about the top 8 but got to the bottom and could no longer be bothered.. I would suggest you reward the teams that are trying by giving them a write up, wouldn't bother for those that aren't as who cares..

Good luck to those of you still in the cup, look forward to watching the game of the season so far, Glads vs Red nuts...
