Could anybody make me a short introduction to this concept of 'elasticity' some here mention? (if it is actually a "thing"). Thanks! :)

You have really high "Hunting" skill and really low "Gathering" skill.

You train Hunting, and your really low Gathering skill drags on it, making your training less effective.

You train Gathering, and your really high Hunting skill pulls on it, making your training more effective.

Like elastic.

If you train a lot of 1on1, they will start to slow down after a while, then you start training OD it will train faster in the beginning. If you train 1on1 and OD in balance (2 week 1on1, 2 week OD for example), you will both train normally. In the long run, does it matter? (training for a target skill-set)

It's understandable, that that effect is not as strong, if you train SF. In fact, elastic training has a strongest effect for guards, because all outside skills are (more or less) linked with 1v1 in that way. Inside skills doesn't get as much by using it.

So always train 1v1 first, then focus on other outside skills?

Thats pretty much the golden rule if you want to train a PG or SG.

The thing about 1v1 is that HA speeds up multiple skills (OD and PA mainly). IS also speeds up ID and RB. IMHO, you do make up for the slow training with speed later on. I have a 24 year old that I am primarily training OD/PA after a heavy dose of 1v1 and he has poped 10 times in the last 10 weeks which is remarkable for a 24 year old.

do you have an idea about the level we've to reach in order to get the bonus of the elastic effect?

A skill should train faster when it is any level lower than its corresponding elastic skill, the lower the level the bigger the bonus.
