Last year, I was super pumped at the thought of being a league with an active message board. Thought wrong. I know the bots don't help the cause but we need to be more active as a group.

Thats pretty fair, although summer can make peoples live busier if anything. I agree though.

I agree, summer tends to slow things down here a bit. I know that is the case with me. But in the end - if the cook doesn't like what is simmering on the stove - turn up the heat. Start with some outlandish thread that you know will inflame everyone or at least most people. People will respond and then you keep pulling their chain just for the fun of it. Or start a thread on a major beef or topic that you think should be discussed.

I'll start - I honestly don't know what the area size should be in league such as this. How much salary and what mix of players do you need to get out of Div II. Can it be done without getting discouraged and going bot?? Is there a time frame involved before one says "I am fed up of my team - time to start over again"

I am fed up of my team - time to start over again

The end of each season. I get bore with my team, I sell most players and buy a new team at the start of the new season. Horrible strategy :P

This season I am not selling any of my guards, just all of my big men. Going to bring in some more big men, maybe a guard and expand my arena. Hopefully the development of Jakes coupled with 3 other viable guards will help me. I need to find me 2 viable starting big men and a decent backup at least though.

Salary really depends on the league and the season.

Here are the rough salaries for the top 4 teams of ecah league:

II.1:
The Syndicate: 290k
Keyes Kops: 330k
sherbrookers: 450k
Webfoots: 372k

II.2:
Montreal Aces: 290k
Crystal Lake Executioners: 590k
TAKE YOU DOWN: 445k
Big ballers: 360k

II.3:
sg united: 530k
Molson Canadians: 420k
O-Rods Rockin Rockets: 415k
brotherhood123: 315k

II.4:
Headless Thompson Gunners: 472k
Belt Buckles: 300k
keswick Killers: 320k
North East Point Toastifiers: 350k

So a lot of differences there and not much help, it really varies. There is no silver bullet in this case.

I think when looking at the salaries above, understand that it's just a snapshot in time. I just moved down to that salary mid-season partly because some of the teams below me downgraded their teams. Also, as playoff time approaches, the teams that are going to compete for promotion (at least in II.3), will have a salary of ~$500k+.

Well re-tooling is going well. I am a backup big man, a guard and a trainee or two away from a good div II team. The new pickups almost stole a game from Crystal Lake for me! The finish to that game was heartbreaking.

82-82 with 1:01 remaining.
CLE miss with 37 seconds left, but get the OR.
CLE shoots with 15 seconds left, miss, but are fouled.
CLE misses first FT, makes the 2nd.
LIG call full timeout down 83-82 with 15 seconds remaining.
LIG shoot with 7 seconds left, miss and foul CLE.
CLE misses both FTs and LIG gets the REB with 7 seconds left and call a 30 second timeout.
0 seconds left and Miguel Cegarra throws the ball away.

:( Oh well!

The new big men?
Doblas: 31pts, 21reb, 6OR, 3ast, 4blk, 1stl, 1TO, 3PF, 11/22 FG, 1/2 3PT, 8/10 FT
Loukusa: 16pts, 13reb, 3OR, 2blk, 3PF, 2TO, 8/15FG
combined: 47pts, 34reb, 9OR, 3ast, 6blk, 1stl, 3TO, 6PF, 19/37 SG, 1/2 3PT, 8/10 FT

I like those stats :)

Another interesting stat is that with only average GS Jakes pulled down 10 rebounds and 4 OR playing PG! Insane!

You have improved your team enough for it to contend if you get the pieces you are talking about getting, the previous players didnt have much stamina but now ur set at a lot of spots and jakes is only going to get better

Prediction for great 8
1. Big Ballerz
2. Take You Down
3. Murfs Blue Devils
4. Pangaa
5. East End

Gonna be the first time in 3-4 seasons that i wont be playing in the finals, missed them in league IV :P

Yeah, good job, you did really well!

I was honestly laughing my ass off when I read : 0 seconds left and Miguel Cegarra throws the ball away.

Also it looks like the Toronto Towers may end up playing the Botwood Raptors in a relegation match which would mean that a bot team would win a relegation series and that somebody in div III would promote through bot cleanup!

Your prediction looks spot on and the playoffs will be hectic as anyone can beat anyone on that side!
