NBBA Season 70 – Day 9 Recap (Saturday, November 15, 2025)
by Buzz Beat Daily
Knights and Bubbles Win on the Road; Cup-Rotation Chaos Shapes a Strange Night
Day 9 flipped the usual NBBA script as Kings Knights and ExplosiveBubbleWrap secured the only road wins of the evening — a rarity in a league where home-court wins are the norm. With National Cup matchups looming, several teams rotated heavily: Mill City, Jumpstop Jumpers, Stark Contrast, 10inch Vertical, and Splash Gang all rested key players. The result was a night full of unbalanced lineups, odd blowouts, and opportunities seized by deeper benches.
Kings Knights Obliterate the Resting Jumpstop Jumpers
The Kings Knights delivered one of the most lopsided performances of the season, crushing Jumpstop 124–29. Jumpers fully rested their core ahead of Cup play, and the Knights ruthlessly capitalized. Carandil stuffed the stat sheet on both ends, and the Knights’ swarming defense forced turnover after turnover. The Knights head into Cup week with momentum — and a reminder of how dangerous their top units can be.
ExplosiveBubbleWrap Outlast Visionaries With Dowell Back in Rhythm
EBW improved to 6–3 with a strong 93–84 road win over the Visionaries. Bruce Dowell, fully back in the rotation, provided steady scoring gravity, while Vega dominated the glass with a 20-rebound performance. Even with Cup-driven chaos swirling around the league, EBW continue to show resilience and structure — a trait that increasingly separates them from the mid-tier pack.
Mill City Edge Starks in a Backups-Only Battle
Mill City Thunder and Stark Contrast both rested their entire main groups ahead of the National Cup, creating a pure reserve-vs-reserve showdown. Mill City’s bench proved sharper in a 64–44 win, leaning on stronger guard decision-making and more controlled tempo. Stark Contrast fall to 5–4, but the loss comes with a giant asterisk — their starters didn’t play a single minute.
Silverbacks Overpower 10inch Vertical’s Cup-Rested Lineup
10inch Vertical protected starters ahead of their upcoming Cup clash with these same Silverbacks, and Silver took full advantage in a 96–49 blowout. Jones’ 8 blocks set the tone as Silverbacks’ physicality overwhelmed Vertical’s makeshift rotation. With the Cup rematch approaching, the psychological advantage clearly tilts toward Silver.
Cavaliers Surge Past ETBU With Relentless Pace
Virginia Cavaliers handled ETBU 109–81, using their depth, tempo, and transition scoring to break the game open early. ETBU fought hard but couldn’t keep up with Virginia’s ball movement or defensive pressure. With a marquee Cup matchup against Mill City Thunder coming this week, the Cavaliers look fully locked in.
TarTeam Torch Splash Gang, Who Rested for the Cup
Splash Gang chose rest over risk, sitting their stars for Cup week — and TarTeam punished them with a 123–52 dismantling. Kruger led the evening in scoring and efficiency, while TarTeam’s passing display (36 assists) was the most fluid of the night. SG’s rest strategy may pay dividends in Cup play, but Day 9 produced a scoreboard they’ll want to forget quickly.
Lords Control the LA Lions With Physical Defense
The Los Angeles Lords delivered a commanding 87–57 victory over the LA Lions, using physical defense and steady execution to dictate the game. Nicomedes posted the top efficiency rating of the night, and the Lords controlled both the pace and the paint throughout.
