Finally got my first D.III win! At least I won't go 0 for the season.

Congratulations, nice job. Yeah, it can be a tough transition. I started out 0-5 last season, maybe even 0-6, but got the hang of it and finished with about a .500 record.

We are a pretty quiet group. My goals for this season? Rebuilding. My team is old, in need of walkers to get up and down the court. They are a wiley bunch though. Just failling off faster than I can find the quality to replace them.

Thanks DRoss! Good luck to you this season over in IV.57

Im 2-2 battling with everyones standard issues -- salary management and tactical management. Just looking to stay in DIII while I get my head around what I need from my team while dealing with a few aging players.

GL to all

I know the feeling. My trainees aren't training fast enough, and my veterans are years too old. It sounds like the formula for a long season.

Well, we've played the first third of the season, and my team is baaaaaaaad! :-) I admit, I should have never won my D.IV league, so I knew I was in over my head. But, I do hate being this far below .500.

How is everyone feeling about their team so far? And how do you feel about the rest of the season?
Me: Not good, and probably more of the same.

P.S. Realm, do (did) you ever happen to play CSFBL?

EC - I see you are following up your 22-0 record in our league with a similar run in D.III - Impressive.
Bernocchi has to be one of your favorite all-time acquisitions. You get all that free salary cap space as a homegrown and he is mighty powerful.
I was fortunate this season by getting Tacconi 2 days before they announced the new salary cap rules. His salary jumped ~ $30,000 and none of it counted against the team.
I'll check back in a few weeks - keep on rollin towards D.II

Ya... thanks for the encouragement!

Sad thing is that he has not made the U21 Italy team, where Sanborn will start for USA U21.

They both have a ways to go to beat out Mayberry for my favorite player! Year one had two Moses!

Hey all,
Its good to be back at my old Alma Mater after these past few seasons, and see some friendly faces (Hey Mortons, Psychonaughts, Kings and the Bandits). Mortons, you still have the same core players I see, I woulda thought you'd give ol' Rizzo, Kristoff and Ellison a break after all these years. Haha. Boy, I still remember them in their heyday. Playing them was the dread of the League for a while there. Schofield was just a pup when he was here last, averaging just 6.7 and 11 the year we promoted. Its fun to see him playing in his old stomping grounds again.

Hey, Lopez,
Welcome back! Looks like you a decent run in DII. Any tips?

Win more games than I did...Haha. But seriously, you need some real firepower to succeed in DII. Defense can only get you so far it seems. My team was lacking dynamic scoring, or rather multiple scorers. Its also not a place to be continuing full time training while being seriously competitive. And then finally, having a bit of a cash cushion doesn't hurt when you need that extra boost on you team, so make sure your arena can handle DII, and you have some cash saved already.
