Big game tonight, a possible Championship preview as the GS Warriors visit the South Stags.

Has Stag's recent transfer wire activity brought in the upgrades to make him the top contender for this year's title?

Does either team really even care about this mid-season matchup or will they both be taking it easy and looking to the playoffs already?

Im suprised he went with motion. Also that he put his new Heavy weight PF at SF.
I think GS is the one to beat at this point. I get the fun of playing Browncoats and Stag back to back...ON THE ROAD!:(

i think he was expecting me to play 2-3 zone
but his pf can't guard anything mid range around the free throw line at sf

Yeah, figuring out how to fit a new guy in can be interesting. And with four of your top five salaries being PF or C, I can understand wanting to see if you can get one of them into the starting lineup at SF.

So who did you keep out of the top 3 - me or Jack? ;)

Warriors have always been the clear favorite in my opinion. His one loss is because I decided to do a Normal in the second game of the season and also didn't save any of my better players for that opening cup game. And it still took double OT for me to pull out the win. I expect he'll get his revenge in a little over a week.

It was a gamble on my part, which didn't really pay off as a D.IV team then did a Normal and beat my scrubs. There went my arena expansion money for the season. I probably should have just conceded that game and seen how long (i.e. lucky draws) I could have lasted in the cup by starting 1 of my top 5 guys each week. Training has normally had one of them staring in a scrimmage anyway. Of course, if I'd been competing in the cup, I likely would have lost a couple of other league games as well. But that's a lot of the fun of BB for me, deciding what different things to focus on each season.

This is a pretty awesome post brother. I am tanking out of D2 and really hope I get the old stomping grounds of III.10.
I won't be a candidate for re promote due to training but I should be a royal pain in the ass where ever I land. Good luck to all, looks like a good race here. I do however pull for the Stags just because he was a pain in my ass.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment. I do expect my teams to always out perform their salaries, in addition to having the strongest bench in the league by a fair margin (probably too much, to be honest). But I started the season thinking I was somewhere 3-5 in the Big 8, so I'm not disappointed by being considered 5th overall. I will point out that I'm 3-0 against the other teams listed. Decent odds I'll be 3-3 by the end of the season though.

I don't really concern myself too much with my league record against teams from the other conference. For example, I don't know how often either of us really cared or tried to win our game. I'm sure there were instances when both of us may have essentially treated it as the scrimmage game for that week due to the other match-ups if we were still in the cup. And other than this season, we both have generally done fairly well in the cup. Based on that, I'm not certain how a game where both of us were trying would really go, although I'd pick you as the favorite to win a three game series.

I really should have bought a couple of bigs the year Valhalla! won the league. But I'm pretty sure I would have been an instant demotee and that really isn't my approach. I'm fine with slow and steady improvements. Although that was by far the weakest season the league has had since I arrived. Also can't say I'm too surprised he was gone from the game in less than two seasons after that.

And I understand completely about not wanting to part with Joe. Ted Eller was one of my original players and he will be on my team until his skills have degraded to all atrocious. In fact, I never trained him to his full potential because I wouldn't have been able to keep him if I had. Many may not agree with that approach, but I get more enjoyment out of the fact that he has played over 250 league games for me than I would from having trained him up and then selling him for a large sum. My next goal for him is trying to find a game where I can get him the team record for assists. Although the last time I tried that, he ended up setting the team record for points instead.
