I pretty much agree with everything you said...and like I said in my post, there probably aren't any better ways of doing it without making things like the Cup pointless.

My overall point I was implying but probably didn't make clear, is that it's frustrating that we play a game like this for enjoyment of playing the game...but to play the game and not get penalized, you have intentionally not play the game on some game days...and/or not play the players on your team that make the game fun to play, too much, or they take a hit.

man, what happened last night to the Horde and the Chargers, it just ain't right.

the story is told that when Scipio Africanus defeated Rome's ancient enemy Carthage -- and he is watching his army loot and eventually burn the city to the ground -- there are tears in his eyes. This makes no sense because he is the victorious general who has defeated the greatest enemy Rome had, and should be celebrating. But he is tearful because he realizes that what is happening to Carthage will one day happen to Rome.

i suppose that's what i think when i see two great teams each losing by more than a 100 points.
