Curious to see predictions for the finals now that people have had a chance to see my new roster in action.

I'll bite.

1) I think it was kind of a foregone conclusion after interconference play that the Great 8 finalist would have Home Court Advantage and a gold-paved road to the trophy and to D3.

2) I think that if the Killa Beez ever played any defense besides a 3-2 zone, they'd have a better chance. But they even played the 3-2 against Murfreesboro (the most predictable LI team in the league) in both of their contests this year. It looks like you built a team around LI and 3-2 zone to defend against the league's top teams, who are all outside offense teams with vulnerabilities inside. As soon as you knew you were headed to the playoffs, you tried to get the tactical advantage. And you succeeded.

3) Also, you have a more expensive roster than the Beez. Overall almost 200k to their 193k; on average, 18k to their 14k; your top 5, 147k to their 135k; your 3 main back-ups, 44k to their 31k. And they're carrying 3 extra players.

So, yes. You are making a good run at promotion. With HCA, a tactical advantage, and a salary advantage I think you pretty much have it locked up.

And, I get that you're proud of your new roster. But you know that fishing for compliments is kind of ugly, right?

Haha, fair enough. I was just sore after receiving 0 votes in the poll and wanted to see if I had changed anybody's minds. But I didn't even vote for myself originally so that's not really fair.

Congratulations to Kobeck on having Francesco Stradiotto named as the league MVP! It's nice to know that the voters in this league appreciate a guy who can move the rock around.

Good luck to CW47 and w_alloy in Saturday's second finals game, which is a must-win for the Killa Beez.

And I would give congratulations to THELIBERTYs on winning their relegation series to stay in IV.30, but (unless they log in again soon) they look to be going bot in about a week or two.

Stradiotto has been an expensive piece, but usually worth it.

Thanks for a competitive season everyone. I feel lucky to have been placed in a strong D4 league and I learned a lot. Also thanks to Rhymin Simon for livening up the forum

I'll do what I can to represent IV.30 going forward, although it will probably be one or two more seasons before I am trying to win playoff games in D3.

Yeah, maybe you get in a league with a former IV.30 manager. I did, it was a pretty fun season, too. Back2back2back champs, baby! Can you repeat that?
