Week 2 Recap:

Still Undefeated: ETB, ASH, WTS, AMS

Still Winless: TEQ, MTE, RCG, RAL

Headlines:

EAGLES LOSE 2ND IN A ROW TO AMSTERDAM 109-99:

BM game ratings: MTE 113, AMS 106

In a battle of two Great 8 powerhouses, both teams did not disappoint. Lee Hui Chu, a key contributor for the Chimps, was out with a twinged pinky, so the undermanned Chimps had to rely on backup center B. Farneti (game rating 9.5) to fill that void. The Eagles were not able to capitalize on that key injury and instead took the heat off of the sub, opting to run a deliberate, slow-paced offense for the second straight week. Mrosla delivered the goods, scoring 45 points and putting the Chimps' starting PG on the shelf for much of the game. The game was tied at 72 going into the 4th, which is where the wheels fell off of the Eagles' effort. The tired Eagles gave up 37 points to the Chimps, with Barreto (28 pts.) and Sanico(27 pts.) leading the way. This game was ultimately decided by conditioning. With Mrosla on the active roster for the USA NT, can the Eagles improve in this critical area this season? After an ugly loss on the road to the Moonlighters on Saturday, some Eagles insiders are murmuring that the Eagles will seek inside help on the market.

SHARKS HOLD ON IN UGLY SLUGFEST AT HOME AGAINST THE MOONLIGHTERS 69-61

BM game ratings: WTS 120, BAD 109

"Don't sleep on these guys" was the mantra that Coach Pennyworth was preaching during practice to his players. They didn't get the picture, and barely scraped a win against a very game Moonlighter squad. The impressive Moonlighters came into the Shark Tank with an impressively dominating performance against last seasons' semifinalist, the Mountain Eagles. This game was back and forth with lead changes in every quarter. This defensive struggle saw the Sharks shoot a paltry 26 percent from the field, while the Moonlighters shot an almost equally disgusting 31 percent. The assist to turnover ratios were horrible as well: 12 AST to 21 TO for the Moonlighters, and 10 AST to 16 TO for the Sharks. The difference in the game came down to foul shots; the Sharks hit 29-36 from the charity stripe to finally pull away in the last two minutes of the match. Pinezas led the Sharks with an ugly 15 pts and 15 boards shooting 31 percent from the field. Pipeta led the Moonlighters with 15 points, 3 AST and 3 STL but while shooting 5-26 from the field. This game was ugly, and the rematch will be one to watch near the end of the season.

Thanks, just not sold on this core. I promoted 3 seasons ago to Division II and got destroyed. Thought with my roster I would come down and head right back up...unfortunately even with the highest salary roster we've underperformed....

You gonna start fresh from trainees? Or grab some guys to still compete this season? Idk how Gremlins beat you last season. Experience perhaps.

Depends really on who gets sold. I've listed many of them before just not all at the same time. I put a premium price on many of the guys so not sure they'll actually go. But I don't have in my opinion worthwhile longterm trainees so I'm open to still competing. Need to start addressing what's next after Marion and Wagner begin to fall off. Timmons should be a monster but rarely plays like it.

Fun stat. Shows how tough the league is.

As normal, the Express are hovering right around the middle.

You guys are looking pretty good. I have to come to your house for a TV game. I'm liking the idea of that less and less

My bad -- you're coming to me, so I do like it
