I originally found BuzzerBeater through a random banner ad on some website that I've since forgotten. Apparently this website was more interesting than whichever website I had been on.

Also, I've noticed a decline in the number of Canadian managers, mostly because my "Country Rank" keeps going up while my team stays mostly the same. I actually sent Bballin a message last night with some of the information I've got from scouting in my leagues draft, and asked him what I can do as far as maybe developing a player or two for the future and getting more involved in our NT/U21.

I'm a firm believer in the "quality over quantity" theory. We don't have the most managers, but as long as the ones we have are active and talented, we're a solid Nation each and every season.

I think most log on initially just to satisfy some curiosity in response to a ad, once on they realize that
a) this is not a porn site
b) this is nice site but not really what they are after
c) no instant gratification on achieving some easy goal
d) not enough shooting, gore, blood, guts, etc...
e) too much freaking thinking and not enough synaptic neurons clicking to handle that aspect of life
f) this is not a porn site

I think one of two things happens:

a.) They want to play a basketball game, they find BuzzerBeater and sign up but get told their team won't be ready until the day after, and then they move on and find a different game and never check again once their team is actually ready.

b.) They expect to actually PLAY basketball. Once they log, they see that it's a management game and that it's not a flash game or something like they were hoping for, and they never come back again.

My guess is the complexity of the game.

I would also bet that some think that it will involve actual NBA players and be more that type of fantasy league.

I was looking for a pc game like "football manager" but for basketball. This is as close as it gets I suppose.
