I was thinking about GS too but my players have been neglected before since regular activity is hard for me to maintain, and a rating of average is really out there. I can't remember the last time it dropped below respectable when I played even a reasonable lineup, and my worst individual outside defender is prodigious.

I had no misconceptions about winning the game, but that one rating really stood out as odd.

My first game of the season had similar OD ratings. I also had players around respectable GS, and playing 2-3 zone. Focus on 1 or 2 games a week, and GS is manageable... if you fall behind on GS by the middle of the season, it's difficult to keep up with other teams.

You can choose to believe whatever you want but GS, home court, effort and tacics all play a role in the ratings.

In order I'd say the issues for the poor ratings were 2/3 zone, bad gameshape, enthusiasm and playing on the road.

That's great to say, but neither you nor kumiko have provided any evidence or reasoning behind your statement. If there is, I'd love to hear it and be happy to change my mind.
Otherwise we're all basing it on our own judgements, except you're claiming yours as fact.

Edit: I used to follow forums quite a bit before, and vaguely remember a BB talking about team ratings. Anyone with supporter want to do me a favour and search it?

Just play the same lineup with the same effort in a week where you have a road and a home game and you'll find that you'll have better defense ratings in the home game. Fact.

People with access to PL have a better chance of proving me wrong (although I understand still very difficult), but the examples you use are pretty poor, since none attempt to isolate home/away or effort level used. The third one isolates tactics, nobody is disputing those aren't included, and the other two seem to be about gameshape, also not being disputed.

And playing the same lineup twice in a week may not see the same results, because I'd think differences in minutes played from your players would yield different team ratings.

Fine, play the same 5 guys for all 48 in both games then (inb4 "what if someone fouls out")...you must be trolling, and I've been caught. Hook, line, and sinker.

I'm simply asking for someone to provide some evidence in order for me to change my opinion. I actually would like to see the results of the experiment you propose (if someone fouls out early, then it'd probably have to be run again, but the likelihood of that is really slim). However, I don't care enough to mess up trainings/gameshape for it myself though, because knowing this info isn't more important for me atm. I was just answering a question serenity now! had based on what I thought.

Or if someone could find a BB talk about this, which I may be wrong but I believe BB-Forest did 1-2 years ago (do searches go that far back?), that would solve it.
