That you did

So 2 other teams from my series are in NBBA now(including the team I clobbered in the finals) Kinda takes away from the glory of winning the finals.

any explanation as to why the additional teams moved up were based on regular season record as opposed to playoff performance?

Playoff performance doesn't really do a very good job of ranking the teams other than the playoff winner.

yeah. i realize that bot cleanup is more important anyway. looks like my team will have to get to the Big League the old fashion way: with a vengeance that knows no bounds.

The way you word it there does leave a flaw in your system. Before the season started it was understood that the winner of the playoffs promoted. So in all feasibility, a team could have clinched a playoff spot a few games early, played "Take It Easy" for their last few and lost them, dropping their regular season record. If they would have known that maximizing their regular season record alone could have gotten them promoted, they would have managed the last few games differently.

Obviously this is a little of an extreme hypothetical, but it is reasonable. Hopefully this bot cleanup either doesn't have to become an every season problem or the rules for promotion to take additional spaces are set in stone from hereon out.
