Round 10 of the TV game show (Match Prediction Contest) is complete, with a wild win by Steppers by 96 points in a walkover subverting 3v5 game. Amazingly this means Lake Charles essentially have the 1st pick in the draft all tied up. Barring a walkover somewhere this season. Who will they draft from presumably their last season in D3 prior to rebuilding? Furthermore, this was a ridiculous amount of PD for McSteppingtons. Making their quest for 7th place and safety from automatic relegation that much more within their grasp.

Final Score: Lake Charles Creoles 49 @ Steppers McSteppingtons 145

As for next gameday....

Tuesday 4/16/2024 8:00:00 PM 5th place River Monsters @ 2nd Place Slashing Dragons

A buzzerbeater wiz told me the River Monsters have only played the Slashing Dragons once and that was last season. Slashing Dragons were also home in that game and won 104-92. Despite the scoeline River Monsters also put more into that game.

The Monsters undoubtedly need the win worse than the Dragons do, however the Dragons aren't exactly safe quite yet though. Dragons are top 2 in the league in blocks with 7.6 a game. They also are in the upper third in fewest turnovers and fewest fouls committed. Meanwhile the river monsters are middle of the pack in damn near everything except they are top 3 in the league in keeping their opponents off the offensive glass. No injuries for either team as it stands. Will Zappia and company slay the dragons or will Vilmos and the winged-wonders be too hot to handle?

Who's got the magic eight-ball this week and can predict this scoreline?

Round 11 of the TV game show (Match Prediction Contest) is complete, with a convincing home win by Slashing Dragons, 108-75. It was an absolutely dominate perimeter defense display from the Dragons. Holding the Monsters to 3 of 21 from 3pt range. On top of a 23 rebound margin. This game was an uphill battle from the start, but a 34 to 9 run in the 4th quarter was the dagger. Unfortunately this means the Monsters will stay in the relegation play-off spots. Meanwhile the Dragons put some more space in between them and the Archers heavy point differential. How will both sides take this momentum into the second half of the season?

Final Score: River Monsters 75 @ Slashing Dragons 108

River Monsters 75

Pos - Player of the Game (Pts, Asts, Rebs)

Slashing Dragons 108
Top 3
Pos - Player of the Game (Pts, Asts, Rebs)
C - P. Vilmos (18, 2, 12)

Team Ratings:
Highest - Perimeter Defence (12.3)
Lowest - Rebounding (7.7)

Saturday 4/20/2024 8:00:00 PM 7th Place New York Newts @ 7th Place Coos Bay Cougars

I love these relegation battles. Neither of us want to be facing the 5th place side of the other conference, but undoubtedly the Newts have a bigger hill to climb to catch up with 6th place. Plus who wants to face the River Monsters now that they want to avenge last game? We will still have young Merino out for this game. Hopefully our guard depth can help us overcome the Newts high pace style. The Newts come in as top 6 in ppg with 103.7 a game, and with one of the best squad in the league at keeping opposing teams off the free throw line.

P.S. Rexapex nailed that last prediction right on the dot. Time to start buying lotto tickets my friend.

I don't want to give too much away for my own game so if anyone wants to throw in a sentence of two previewing the matchup that would be awesome.

I walked into the New York Newts clubhouse to interview the team. Let me set the scene. Wang Bangliang was chugging Slurpee from the machine in the corner. Sweet Eddy, Gavin "Give em the" Byrd, Ed "Take it or" Leavitt, and Imiliano "I'm a Villan" Villamater were playing snertz on the floor, surrounded by a rainbow of Surge cans and chocolate wrappers. Bastian "Sledgehammer" Seidinger was sitting on medicine ball. Dawid "the Walrus" Ossowski waved me over to the long wooden bench by his locker. "I'm surprised you came. Its been a rough season." "I'm doing a piece on your next tv game against the Cougars." "We had high hopes, the Sledge and I, that management would bring in the missing pieces. We're getting older and im not going to get through another rebuild. Rafi, he's the future. We're gonna give it all the we've got to keep the team from relegation but its just the 10 of us going hard 3 or 4 nights a week. We can't keep up with the deeper rosters in the league. Trust the process they say. Maybe we'll get a couple guys at the break and make a push in the second half. As for Saturday, we'll be there to give em hell."
