The USA's last victory in the NT Americas tournament was in Season 7. Since then, Chile had asserted complete dominance over the tournament. Winning seasons 11,13,15 and 17.
For these reasons, our 118-103 victory over Chile in the Season 19 finals was a major morale boost.
Does this mean we are ready for a run at the worlds? We will see. A lot has to go right for any given team to have a shot at the worlds, and right now it's too early to say.
But we are going in the right direction. The dominance of the U21 team together with the large amount of american players that found their way into NBBA teams means that we will be an elite team for a long time.
