Swan River Federation SOLD!

"As the head coach of the Swan River Serpents and the Westopian Tigers, it has fallen to me to inform you all of the sale of both clubs by the owners of the Swan River Federation---effective immediately," Coach MrJ announced to club members in a closed-door meeting. This announcement brought shocked gasps from members and staff who were not prepared for such news.
"Discussions have been ongoing for some time and were finalised late last night with current owner, Jacob Swan, confirming the sale," MrJ added as club and staff members began to fire questions at the coach. While I cannot provide any further details about the new owners, I can also share with you..."

"Please, please," he pleaded, ushering them to allow him to finish. "I understand that you will have many questions in the coming days about this sale and its consequences, however, I have been asked to convey the following," he paused before continuing.

"At the end of Season 69, and prior to the start of Season 70, the Swan River Serpents will be renamed and rebranded," he continued over more gasps. "The Westopian Tigers, however, will remain as they currently are. The new owners do not wish to change anything with the Tigers brand. The Serpents, however, will no longer be known by that name."

Several members closest to Coach MrJ shouted what their question simultaneously, asking what the team name will become.

"I cannot share that with you at this point as this information will be shared with you in due course," Coach added before softening his tone and adding, "and I also wish it to be known that I will not be the head coach of either team going forward."
An outcry of shock and anger met this announcement as fans demanded to know why the owners would fire their beloved coach.

"I understand your questions, and thank you all sincerely for your concern, however, I made this decision. I believe that the clubs are moving in a new direction and will require another coach with a different mindset to lead these great clubs into the future." With that, Coach MrJ walked off stage and ignored the pleas by members and staff to reconsider his decision.
